This is a 1978 F150 that I bought to supply a drivetrain to a 1965 F100 project. I have shifted to a 1978 F100 project but I had already decided that this truck is much, much too nice to part out. The engine is rock solid, smooth as silk and the transmission has no slip or bump-which is why I wanted it for my '65. There is some surface rust here and there but I havent found any rust through, anywhere. The bed, which is always rusted through, just needs sanding and paint. There is some common surface rust under the moulding. Sand and paint is all the exterior needs, zero body work that I can tell (but I havent removed any moulding). As for the trim and chrome, its unbelievable. The front bumper is in perfect shape, the grille and grille shell are awesome. I even thought of taking it for my F100. The interiors is in decent shape. It could use new carpet and the seat needs recovering. The dashpad, which is the most expensive replacement part, is in perfect shape. No tears, cracks, etc. I could get a few hundred just for that pad if I wanted to sell it separately. Now for what is needed to be a daily driver. The gas tank and fuel line need cleaned. There is trash in the tank and I never fooled with removing it and cleaning because I wasnt planning on using it. It needs tires, the ones on there are just rollers and not in good shape at all. It has old basic steel wheels. If you want one of these to restore, and want a very easy restoration project, this is certainly the way to go. If you want a daily driver or work truck, this is just a couple hundred bucks and a Saturday afternoon away from that. If my F100 wasnt my dad's old truck I would have restored this one instead. I keep going back and forth whether I just want to hold on to it, they dont come in this shape often. Oh, it has factory AC too but not sure of its condition. Cash only, in person only.
