1958 356A WORLDWIDE SHIPPING Heres a fantastic 356A project driver. All doors,decklid,hood,gauges,motor,transaxle and even the all original 5 date stamped (8 of "57") "lemmerz" wheels are intact. The doors,hood and decklid are the originals and match the vin number. The engine # is 67745 which is exactly where it should be in production. We believe the engine as well as the transaxle are the factory numbers matching originals. The title indicates the last registration in the 1960s. All the doors open and close,the windows roll up/down and pop out freely. The 356A will likely live in the annals of vintage sportscars prestige all its own. Driving one is very difficult to describe. Our driver only took the car up to 75mph but there was pedal left and we were going uphill. This car goes like stink! Its wearing a very retro 50s racer paint scheme that only seems to scream "drive me". The very rare original headlight grills don't hurt either. This was originally a meissen blue and red interior car. Another cool thing about it is the rare corduroy inserts in the original seats. The engine suffers from a exhaust leak but it runs out quite well in all gears. 1958 and 1959 were the pinnacle of the 356A, these years retained the "A" body but used the strongest chassis arrangement yet developed. This is what you buy after you realize how much the pre "a" cars come up short of your expectations of what a vintage porsche is. This old car has little bumps and bruises that any unrestored car has. It has solid floors but the outer longitudinals are pretty rusty. We think restoring it makes good sense but there are many different opinions out there on the topic. The good news is that now in the 21st century we have access to every single panel to repair or recreate these cars. You could drive this car as is and as you drive and enjoy replace what you need.
