You are bidding on a 1947 MGTC. It has been in storage and not driven since approximately 1972. There has never been an attempt at a restoration in the past on this car, from what I can tell. The body and fenders appear to be pretty straight with no evidence of previous accidents. Some of the wood in the body will need attention due to softening over the years. The rear fenders are made of fiberglass, but the rest of the body is original. The engine will turn over but I have never tried to start it. The man I bought the car from said that the engine is original to the car, but the brass engine number tag is missing from its usual location on the top of the bell housing, so I don’t know for sure. Everything that comes with the car is in the pictures. I don’t have any other parts or spares. You will notice on the dash that the car has a vacuum gauge that matches the rest of the gauges of that period. I've been told these are very rare. Also, the number on the key matches the number on the ignition switch, indicating that the original key is still with the car! I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I can give the name of a good, reliable shipper if you wish.
