Up for auction is a 1992 Geo Metro 4-Door Hatchback. This is an AS-IS for Parts or Repair only auction. There will be NO refunds. I will try and list everything that is wrong with this car below because I do not want the buyer to be disappointed. I just put 4 brand new tires on this car 5 months ago for $250. If it wasn't for that I would be starting this auction at $200 instead of $350. I bought this car 3 years ago and it has ran great. I love these early 1990s Geo Metros. I never had any major problems with it. About one month ago the engine just quit. I do not know what is wrong with it. It does try to turn over, but it won't start. It is not worth it for me personally to try and have it fixed. There is not a 6th digit on the odometer; when I bought it it was unclear if it was in the 100s or 200s; so this car either has 201,624 miles or 301,624 miles. Obviously this car will have to be towed, or put on a trailer. It is located approximately 2 miles from the Lick Creek exit #36 on Interstate 57 in Southern Illinois. 4 Brand new tires about 5 months ago. It has new headlights, new radiator, new brakes, all around 12-18 months old. It has the original owners manual in great condition. The spare tire is in in good condition and holds air. Now for all the problems I can think of: As I said above I am selling this because the engine has died. It tries to turn over, but it won't start. The interior I would say is in poor condition. Though I have seen some early 1990s Geo Metros where the interior looks much worse than this one. Still I would say it is poor. It would take some work to clean up. The passengers side window glass is out of its track. Probably an easy fix. The front passengers side parking light is broken. See picture. The headlight is fine though. The air conditioner does not work. I have no idea what is wrong with it. If you don't let the car warm up for a few minutes sometimes the transmission will start in 3rd gear. I was told it needs a new TCM (transmission control module). But I drove it for 3 years like this, it was never a problem. If I didn't have time to let it warm up, and it tried to start in 3rd gear, I would just shift manually. There is no car stereo. Though the wires are still good. The above is NOT meant to be a complete list of all problems. I am not a mechanic. This is a list of all the problems I am aware of. I just did not want the buyer to have any surprises. AGAIN, THIS IS BEING SOLD AS-IS. FOR PARTS OR REPAIR ONLY. NO REFUNDS. These early 1990s Geo Metros are going for at least $1,700 or so on eBay, so if a good mechanic could fix this car up you might be able to make some money.
