OKAY, RELISTING BECAUSE WE GOT CLOSE AND I'VE HAD 7 EMAILS FROM INTERESTED WATCHERS ALL MAKING ME THE SAME OFFER. I AM STARTING THE BIDDING AT WHAT HAS BEEN OFFERED WITH A BUY IT NOW OF JUST A BIT MORE. THIS IS HOW I FIND OUT HOW SERIOUS ONE OF YOU SEVEN REALLY ARE :) THANKS FOR ALL THE INTEREST AND GOOD LUCK. You are bidding on a very original 1962 Buick LeSabre 2 door hardtop coupe. The vehicle has the 401 cu. engine with automatic transmission original to the car. This is a base model as far as I can tell, but I've included a shot of the information tag on the firewall for you Officianados. MECHANICALLY: The vehicle runs out well with good compression and pickup. There is a slight exhaust leak at the manifold that quiets down as the car warms up. The transmission shifts as it should, drops down appropriately on acceleration and does not make any strange noises. The steering is good, not perfect, but the steering box seems pretty solid. The brakes have just been redone with two new cylinders, hoses, drums turned and shoes all around. All the lights on the vehicle are in working order including the dome light. All gauges, vents, wipers are working properly and the a.m. radio gets reception although quite a bit of static. The only things not working are the odometer/speedometer, clock and I think the horn is intermittent. The tires are in great shape with plenty of life. The engine bay is quite clean as is the trunk area, and the car does not leak anything enough to get my garage floor dirty. I would guess there is some seepage based on the undercarriage, but I didn't want to degrease and pressure wash it to give you the illusion that it's a car that is bone dry. EXTERIOR: The vehicle is a nice straight car with only a couple dings. There has been some work on the tops of the quarters (not replaced) at some point and is a little muddy/sanding scratches at certain angles, but I'm pretty critical. Same goes for down low near rockers. All in all though, this is a nice driver quality car that gets plenty of looks and thumbs ups. The paint is likely 5-7 years old (a guess) and has some checking in spots (mostl down low). I wet sanded the entire car recently to bring back a nice gloss and it looks pretty darn which is what yields the glossiness in the photos. Paint is not perfect as stated, but shows well for a driver. The chrome is all there with some pitting and crackling that you would associate with a 50 year old car. There are three dings in the rear bumper. The whole car shines up pretty good though...again for a driver, not a trailer queen. The engine compartment and trunk areas are really clean. While the car has some surface rust underneath and along the edges that has had some repair, the car is very solid where it needs to be...solid frame, aprons, jambs, and pillars. Glass is all good with only minor scratches in side glass, no cracks or stars anywhere. INTERIOR: The interior has been redone at some point with regard to the seating and the carpet. Both are in really good shape with no tears, staining, or real wear of any kind. The steering wheel is original and has a couple cracks (pictures show). The chrome inside is decent and the dash pad is original with a couple small cracks. The headliner has one small tear about 3" long. The door panels are in great shape and all the handles are in good condition as well. Very basic interior that shows really nicely as the photos would suggest. Clock is not working, but is right twice a day. OVERALL: What you have here is just what I said, a very good example of a 1962 LeSabre that you can drive just as it sits and enjoy it at your local car shows or cruise nights. It starts right up every time, runs strong and looks great going down the road. The car needs absolutely nothing to be enjoyed the first day you buy it. It's a very respectable driver quality car as it sits. You may have seen these customized by some and turned into restomods that fetch upwards of $30,000. You can do this if you wanted to or drive it just the way it is while turning it into a trailer queen with your own personal touches. LOOK at my feedback, as I describe the things I sell so you will always be pleasantly surprised rather than the alternative...I feel like that's the side to err on when you're buying a large ticket item online. I can help with shipping by meeting up with a transporter if necessary, and for local buyers that are interested, I can show after 6:00 p.m. most weeknights. Feel free to email with any questions, and I'll do my best to answer. There are plenty of pictures, but should you want more, I'll do my best to get them.
