1969 Toyota Corolla Sprinter CoupeVery Very Rare ** NO RESERVE** This is the first year for the Sprinter in North America and the second year for Toyota. I've watched Ebay for many years and have only seen a handful of of first series Toyotas offered, I have never seen a Sprinter nor have I seen one for sale on any of the other sites I've watched, this is truly a very rare car. I am nervously offering this car for sale with no reserve, $14,000.00 has been spent on this car to date and I'm hopeful it will do well, but in this economy who knows. Vehicle Description: This car is a well equipped car, including the Toyoglide Automatic (I've been told less than 400 were produced this year), radio, dash package tray, deluxe wheel covers, fog lights, seat belts with shoulder harness, emergency flashers, tool kit, rust proofing, block heater and opening 1/4 windows. The car has just over 93,000 miles. Vehicle Condition: Overall condition of the car is very good, the body has been restored with any rust repairs being replaced with new metal, no fiber glass was used. It was blocked out and repainted using a quality bass coat clear coat red. The result is a very straight car with excellent paint. The chrome is in good original condition, the rear bumper has a slight bend where it looks like it was jacked up in the wrong spot (see pictures) and is slightly discolored on the end piece. There is a small stone bruise on the passenger side of the windshield, it may be repairable, all other glass is good. The interior is unrestored but in better than average condition, with some wear to the seats and carpet, the rear package tray is sun damaged. Included with the car is a complete service history indicating that the engine was re-manufactured about 20,000 miles ago. I have recently replaced all of the brake shoes, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, muffler and tail pipe, battery and set the lifters. The tires are very good, the car steers well, runs smooth and shifts as it should. History: This was a one family car for most of its life, the original owner signed it over to her granddaughter to drive her around when she became too old to drive herself. It was then purchased by a man who wanted a car to carry on his large houseboat and drive around when he would dock. He wanted a car that was a classic, but small enough to drive up and down a dock and not take up too much room on the boat. It also had to be an automatic that carried 4 passengers, this car was perfect. He bought the Toyota and spent over $10,000.00 to bring the car back to the condition it is in today. Sadly when the economy changed he was forced to sell the houseboat and the buyer did not want a car using up that much deck space so it was not included in the sale. At that time I was offered the car and I scooped it up. I have owned the car for about 3 years now, I have a number of cars in my collection and I am selling the building where several are stored. I have decided to downsize rather than find alternative storage and as a result this is one of the cars I am selling. Location: The Toyota is located just outside Salmon Arm British Columbia about 5 hours from the US border. It currently has a British Columbia title. If it is purchased by an American I can help with shipping (at the buyer's expense) and documentation as I have done it several times and I am familiar with the process. It takes time to arrange the best shipping price so I will only get the cost for the winning bidder. I can store the car at no charge until the end of September but at that point it must be picked up. The Car Needs? I have only driven this car about 100 miles in the time that I have owned it, I find it starts stops and drives well, it does not appear to use oil or make strange noises, it runs at the half way point on the temperature gauge even on hot days. I believe that all the fluids and hoses should be changed before it goes on a long trip. The Sprinter emblem on the trunk lid, the drivers door mirror and the factory radio are missing, other than that everything else appears to be there. The interior is very presentable but has some wear, there is a small tear on the back side of the drivers seat and worn spots on the carpet, sometimes one interior door handle can be finicky (likely an adjustment) and the speedometer can be lazy and not work properly for the first few miles, then it seems fine . Over All: This car has taught me that not all classics have to be chrome laden gas guzzling monsters, I have had it at few local events and it truly gets a lot of attention . In fact today when I took it to the car wash and then for lunch there was a small crowd around it and peoples cards on the windshield saying what a great car it was and how they had one like it. The car is in great shape, very simple in mechanics and very cheap to operate. As cost go up classic micro cars are becoming more and more popular and if you do your homework you will see that an early Corolla Sprinter is impossible to find. This car even has the tool kit, original books and service history. If your looking for a fun classic that won't cost more than you house then this may be the car for you. I'm taking a big risk offering it unreserved so you may get lucky and get it well below market value. Inspectons: I have described the car as best I can but encourage you to come and see the car for yourself or arrange to have a local mechanic look at it for you, however any inspection must be done before the end of the auction. Payment: NO EXCEPTIONS payment must be made within 5 days of the close of the auction. I prefer bank to bank wire transfer but an official bank check or cash in person is fine. Scammers: I have heard every con job in the book don't waste my time it won't work! Contact me: (Bruce) at bsingbeil@msn.com or 1-250-515-1110 Good Luck and Thanks For Looking
