Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is this Awesome 1972 Dodge Polara Pursuit! It is an ex-North Carolina Police vehicle with 24,285 undisputed original miles as stated in the previous and current Title. There is no way to confirm this with the exception of the vehicle's original condition. The car has 2 original Build Sheets designating it as a North Carolina Police car that is presumed to have been an administrative vehicle, since it was never marked, and due to its incredible condition. It has the reinforced roof, but no lights were ever attached. It sports the 140 M.P.H. Certified Speedometer, that were unique to the Police Pkg. Under the hood is a matching numbers 440 H.P. motor with the 727 Torqueflite transmission. The rear-end is the incredible 3:23 SureGrip. The previous owner stated this car had been resprayed over 12 yrs ago approx. , however there are areas of this car that appear to have the original paint, which still shines nicely, but remember it is a 40 year old vehicle. The actual name of the color on vehicle is Spinnaker White. The interior is impressively original, as well as the undercarriage and trunk are incredibly well preserved. The wheels are 15 x 6.5 Heavy Duty "H" Police wheels that are original to the car. It is missing the spare rim but has 4 like new Goodyear Eagle GT+4 Pursuit radials 235-70-15, and a brand new old stock one for a spare in trunk. The driver side has a period correct NOS Unity Spotlight. While the a/c blows it's not cold. AM/FM radio works. The dashpad is cracked where the radar was placed. I do have available a replacement pad that is in great shape that would only need to be painted blue like the original. The rumble of the dual exhaust is unmistakable. I have removed 2 items that are original to the car and will be included with it: The Pollution filter, and the original carburetor, which was finicky and I simply replaced with another,. I understand that the market for these cars as collectibles is extremely exclusive, and values are almost impossible to calculate due to the rarity of their existence in any worthwhile condition. This truly is an outstanding example of 70's Police Automobiles worth collecting. I have described the vehicle's condition and history to the best of my knowledge, please ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. Some of the pics are courtesy of previous owner, Thanks Mike. I encourage and welcome inspection of the vehicle prior to bid, I will require a $2,000.00 non refundable deposit within 2 days of end of auction. The vehicle will not leave my sight until payment in full is made and verified as clear. Shipping is solely the responsibility of the winning bidder, with that said I will make myself available to assist within reason in facilitating the transport. I am not a dealer, nor am I a transporter, so please do your homework and get shipping quotes for transport. The vehicle is for sale locally and I always reserve my right to end the auction early. I am not interested in any trades no matter how appealing and I am not desperate to "get rid of it"! I will not disclose the reserve to keep in the spirit of a true EBAY auction. Thanks for looking!
