Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1957 Triumph TR3. This car is very original and very complete. There has never been any attempt at a restoration in the past. The original color of the car under the teal metallic somebody repainted it is wedgewood blue, which is the same beautiful shade of blue as wedgewood pottery. The interior is all original and is the rarest of all interiors used on the TR3s. The vinyl on the dash, door panels, seat backs, cockpit rails, seat piping, and anywhere else vinyl was used, is the basket weave pattern (see close-up picture below) described on page 39 in “Original TR2 and TR3”, by Piggott. It was only used on a few very early TR2s and some early TR3s. And in this car, it is still in very good condition with none missing anywhere. Even the basket weave piping in the seats is still good enough to save and reuse if you’re planning to restore this car authentically. The leather part of the seats and dash rail is the original gray color also. I have a Heritage Certificate for this car that verifies that the engine is the original one that came with the car from the factory, as well as everything else on the car, including the original ignition key with correct number on it that matches the ignition switch number. It does not appear that this car has ever been in an accident. The body is very straight with no evidence of bondo or rust repair. The only rust on the exterior body can be seen in the pictures. Both rocker panels and the left front fender bottom will need some attention. There is no rust out in the frame and as you can see from the pictures of the bottom of the car, the floors are in pretty good shape with just a few small holes The engine has not been started for several years, but it turns over easily with the hand crank. Most of the electrical items in the engine compartment that I have checked, like the starter for example, are original because they have a 4/57 date on them. The tool roll is still with the car and there is a tonneau cover. The top and side curtains are in good condition. I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I can give the name of a good, reliable shipper if you wish. Buyer will be given a Bill of Sale and a Georgia Proof of Ownership. Georgia does not issue Titles for cars this old.
