Our beloved 1977 Westfalia is in very good condition and has been used regularly during the last two summers for day trips and overnight camping. We have reconditioned this bus to be clean and comfortable and have absolutely loved it so want it to go to a good home. In June we had a fuel fire in the engine so have decided to remove the engine and start over with a new one. We were going to get another rebuilt engine for it but due to financial restraints have decided to sell it as is. I want to make sure that bidders know that this van is in very good condition but does need a motor and a new rear cushion. I was told last night that the engine block may be salvageable so we decided to leave the engine in so that whatever can be used will be there for the next owner. It is a 4 cyl, 2 liter, 2 wheel drive. Although the fuel fire did last for under 10 minutes, it was windy and the rear right side did get some flame damage to the paint. It will need to be sandblasted and touched up. I in no way want to mislead anyone to the condition of the bus and have all the photos up that I think show the condition accurately. We were going to do the sandblasting and paint but thought it would be better to leave for the new owner so that you could see exactly what was effected by the fire.
