1968 TRIUMPH SPITFIRE CONVERTIBLE THIS CAR RUNS BEAUTIFULLY,HAS COMPLETELY REBUILT ENGINE WITH NEW RINGS, CAM,VALVES,GASKET SEALS,NEW CLUTCH,ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP,NEW WATER PUMP. ALSO ALL DOOR SEALS AND TRUNK SEAL HAVE BEEN REPLACED THANKS FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING On Jul-08-12 at 15:07:10 PDT, seller added the following information: THE ISSUE OF UNLEADED FUEL USE IN AN OLDER ENGINE i did not do the rebuild it was done about 6 years ago just before i bought the car, by a land rover tech in new jersey.i have been storing the car till i retired and have only just finished it . i have had many old cars and have driven them for many hundreds of miles and never had any problems. triumps mgbs and rolls royces i dont anticpate any problems with this spitfire using unleaded fuel .do you know of anyone that has had any issues ??On Jul-11-12 at 11:58:21 PDT, seller added the following information: no nothing else missing from the front of the car the only thing i do not have is the cover for the top when it is in the down postion, and the knob for the windsheild washer.the hoses ect where put on the car when the rebuild was done so probably 6 years ago.there are no leaks.the car has not been used at all for 6 years only been driven 8 miles since i have owned it.it was in storage as the listing says.the carpet kit i got did not have any carpet for that cross beam.and some other british cars do not cover that area mg midget.carbs have just been completely rebuilt with new enrichment tubes ect.it runs as good as any triumph i have driven.oil pan just resealed so new oil and filter. the interior has new carpets., new dash cover,new seats foam rubbers and covers seat frames where sand blasted repainted then recovered i had this done at a cost of $600.00 also new door and trunk seals door panels repaired glove compartments. it will need a new boot hinge as the one on the car has been repaired it works fine replace for looks only. the silencer hits the floor now and again as you drive. as i said this is not a show car just a nice driver you can enjoy even take to a show but you wont win best in show with this car. thanks dezlyn68On Jul-12-12 at 08:43:24 PDT, seller added the following information: TO THE BIDDERS THAT WANT TO DRIVE THE CAR BACK TO THERE HOME.PLEASE BE AWARE THE COST OF SHIPPING MAY BE LESS THAN THE COST OF AIR FARE AND LODGING PLUS WEAR AND TEAR ON YOURSELF IN A CAR WITH NO CRUISE CONTROL AND NO A/C AND 44 YEAR OLD TECHNOLOGY .IF YOU STILL WANT TO DRIVE IT HOME AFTER PLACING YOUR WINNING BID, AND ALL MONIES HAVE BEEN PAID I WILL SEND THE TITLE AND OTHER PAPER WORK YOUR STATE MAY NEED OVERNIGHT TO YOU SO YOU CAN GET YOUR PLATES TO DRIVE IT HOME.A WINNING BID MEANS YOU OWN THE CAR AS I CANNOT SELL IT TO SOMEONE ELSE??
