1970 AMC Ambassador SST Station wagon in mostly original condition.Paint appears to be original except for the right front door.The previous owner bought the car in 1995 with 88000 original miles and kept track of all maintenance to the present mileage of 131000.The car does have some rust,the worst being the front section of the fenders and the tailgate.It does however come with a spare tailgate which is in better condition.The engine (360 V8) and automatic transmission work fine but are both in need of servicing, major tune up,fluid changes etc.The car is presently licenced and has just passed inspection.Undercarriage has no visible holes and appears quite solid.Interior is in good shape for the year,no rips in the seats or cracks in the dash.One of the sidepanels in the cargo area however is broken and missing a piece.This car would make a fairly easy restoration or just driver with a little work.Brakes are good,new shocks and drums in the back,front end was good enough to pass inspection and it does not shake going down the road.A/C compressor is not hooked up but still turns.I was going to restore it but we are planning on moving out of state so I do not have the time or money to spend on an old car right now.On Jul-08-12 at 11:43:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Just added a couple more pics.It does have the rear facing seat,there are some spare parts,mostlychrome,lenses and taillight bezels,all nos.Rear window still goes up and down.Car also has new looking but somewhat crude dual exhaust with thrush turbo mufflers.Has a leak at the right exhaust manifold.Lastly,I have not driven this car too much,about 90 miles home after I bought it and then maybe another 200 some miles.Never broke down on me but I do not think I would recommed driving any major distance untill it has been gone through and serviced.
