Vehicle Detail
AWESOME FJ40! NO RESERVE!!! VEHICLE IS ALSO LISTED FOR SALE LOCALLY; SELLER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO WARRANTY IS EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. Legendary FJ40 with Clear Title in-hand, solid frame and body with some corrosion. Whether you are looking to do a full frame-off restoration, have a sweet beach cruiser, or do a build for serious mudding/rock-crawling; this is the vehicle! Must see and drive to appreciate. More pictures are available upon request. You could spend a good bit less money on a true rust-bucket, or a great deal more on a fully restored FJ40; I recommend that you purchase this FJ40 because it is ready to drive at a fair price. I am about to deploy with the Reserve, so I do not have much time, and will be unable to arrange delivery. My wife really wants the FJ40 out of the garage so she can park her new car there. Lex-Tech of James Island, SC recently inspected and re-wired the electrical system and installed a brand new Interstate MT-78 875 CCA Battery. Transmission is OEM 4-Speed. Currently has just over 51,469 miles and runs GREAT. This vehicle is ready to drive, all corrosion is non-structural. I would feel comfortable driving this FJ40 to California today. I drive my family in it every weekend. BF Goodrich Rugged Trail T/A tired have 80% tread remaining. FJ40 is driven recreationally approximately once a week, so mileage will vary at time of inspection and sale. MODIFICATIONS: -Engine: Chevrolet (GM GoodWrench) V8 Small Black 350 cubic inch crate motor with Holley Carburetor and Edelbrock Air Cleaner. -Power Steering Pump. -Trail Jack mounted to Front bumper. -Fold and Stow Rear Bench Seat with LATCH System. -Tailgate gap has been welded closed -After-Market Fuel Gauge. -Corbeau Moab front racing seats. -After Market American Racing AR62 "Outlaw II" Alloy Rims with anti-theft lug nuts. -Chrome Fuel Door. -Battery re-located to rear tub; has power-cutoff switch. KNOWN ISSUES: -Speedometer, and Battery Gauge are functional along with after-market Fuel Gauge. Other gauges are not functional. -Some areas of superficial, and full thickness corrosion ("body rot"). Overall the body is in good condition. I have attacked all of the weak spots that I could find, and prepped them for cut-out and welding-in of patches.-Starter has "Heat Soak" and will not turn-over when very hot. Reflective Heat Blanket has been added to mitigate, but a high-torque starter will solve issue completely. Cold start, it starts every time. -Driver's Side Headers have been dimpled to allow steering shaft clearance for Power Steering Pump. -Driver's Side Exterior Door Handle does not flip back down (must be pushed-down by hand after opening). -Passenger side door Window Regulator bolt head is stripped. I have been using a pair of small vise-grips to roll it up and down. -Top of Radiator may be forming leaks; will need pressure-test/repair or new radiator within the next year.-Syncro may be going in 3rd Gear? MAINTENANCE RECENTLY ACCOMPLISHED: -Just changed: Oil/Filter (Valvoline NexGen 10w30/Wix), Transmission Gear Oil, Front/Rear Differential Gear Oil (Valvoline DuraBlend 80w90 Synthetic Blend), Lubricated all Zerks. -Installed 8 new Accel High-Temperature Spark Plug Wires, with High-Temperature ceramic plug boots, and 8 new Accel ACC-0576S copper spark plugs. -Replaced Driver's Side Exterior Door Handle; it may need a new return-spring. -Installed brand new (washable) K&N E-1650 Air Filter. -Replaced Windshield Wiper Blades.
