Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is the rare 1987 Mercedes 300D Turbo Diesel. It has 230K miles and yes, the odometer actually works on this one. In fact, everything works - including the climate control which blows 45 degrees on the Interstate and 50 degrees around town in 90 degree weather. This vehicle is in excellent condition for its age and only has a few blemishes. As you will see in the pictures, there are a couple of dents on the exterior but NO RUST. It has a few rips on the center console and the carpeting could use a good shampoo. there is a small tear starting in the driver's seat but it isn't through the material all the way yet. This car looks and drives great! The previous owner did decide to put the Euro headlights on and didn't quite finish the job, so the headlight wipers and washers were never installed. They are included with the vehicle though. All of the windows, sunroof, windshield wiper, rear defrost, power mirrors, power seats, and MP3/CD player work. The cruise control switch is a bit flaky so sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but most of the time it does. The tires are less than 50% tread and will need to be replaced soon, but not immediately. I did replace the alternator recently and the instrument cluster housing because the old one did not allow the light to come through at night so you couldn't see how fast you were going. I transferred all of the original gauges over and only replaced the housing. I also replaced the serpentine belt. The paint is original and shiny. It looks incredible and is a real head turner. They just don't make cars like this anymore. If you know anything about Mercedes, you know that these are quality vehicles, and they are tanks that live forever. With only 230K miles, this vehicle has many, many miles to go if you take care of it properly. I have disclosed just about everything I can think of, but if you have any questions, feel free to contact me and ask. The next owner of this vehicle won't be disappointed.
