Car drives well but might need a little work. By little work I mean that the seal between the transmission and the engine is old and leaks oil. Seal itself cost about $25 and labor is $300. What can you tell us about it? A: It's a 1989 325i BMW. My father calls it the urban assault vehicle because it doesn't really matter if it gets dented or dinged. It is very small, so I can park in smaller spots... It's got a lot of pick up and it gets really good gas mileage, about 25 miles per gallon. The car also has no blind spots because the frame is not very wide and the driver sits above the trunk. Q: Sounds pretty ideal. What made you buy it? A: Five years ago, my Saab broke. My parents loaned the car to me while I was shopping for a new car. I really liked it, so I made them an offer and they sold it to me for a very reasonable price. Q: What do you like about the car? A: It's quirky and classic all in one. The shape is fantastic -- It's boxy, but yet it's got a smooth shape to it. Plus, it's small and speedy. But I really love that it has no blind spots Q: Do you ever wish you drove a newer car? A: I would rather drive an older car that has a little bit of style than a newer car that doesn't. I drive this car because it is relatively inexpensive, extremely safe and I don't care if it gets dented.
