Vehicle Detail

1964-1/2 Ford Mustang CoupeBuilt in Dearborn, MI on May 13, 1964Engine 289ci V-8 210HPBlack with Tan InteriorRuns GreatMilage: 87499 This is an almost original 1964-1/2 mustang with a 289 4bbl V-8 engine and a cruise-o-matic or Ford-o-matic two speed automatic transmission. This car is a true 64-1/2 with documentation to prove it, early serial # and the rolled hood with horns mounted on the frame rails, which was only done prior to the 65 model year. This car was stored indoors for about ten years until I purchased the car in 2010, and it has been stored indoors since then. The car is almost all original: The intake manifold and the carburetor are not original ford equipment, the valve covers, air cleaner and radio are also not original however I have the original Valve covers, air filter and radio in the trunk along with a new head liner in the box and all can be reinstalled on the car to make it original. The intake and carb are available from various sources so the car can be made complete and original with very little effort. The car runs and drives like a 64-1/2 mustang should, the rear springs have settled over the years but new shocks will correct that problem, the tires were new in 2010 and installed by me on the original Ford wheels with a spare wheel in the trunk, no spare tire. This car can be driven as is but I would recommend new motor mounts as the rubber has deteriorated over the years and a complete brake job as this car is equipped with manual drum brakes and manual steering. The picture of the odometer shows the original mileage and the picture of the car shows the paint is not great and appears to have been painted at least once before. A small amount of surface rust can be seen but no visible cancer, The frame pockets and connector boxes look ok, no cancer. This is NOT a perfect car but a great car as a daily driver or a great platform for a total restoration as almost all the original parts are here and quite usable. I have documentation that can be faxed confirming the features that make this car a 64-1/2 such as a Generator charging system with a generator light on the dash, the option of a U, F, or D code engine, horizontial speedometer layout, breaklight pressure switch on the master cylinder, as well as large horns mounted on the frame rail behind the radiator. This car currently lives in Bradenton, FL and seller can help with delivery within the state of Florida for a minimum charge to be negotiated after sale. Customer will have to arrange pick-up beyond my limitations. NO REASONABLE OFFER WILL BE REFUSED!! On Jun-27-12 at 06:55:11 PDT, seller added the following information: THIS CAR HAS A CLEAR TITLE. On Jun-27-12 at 08:50:25 PDT, seller added the following information: We also have an 10-Page Appraisal from 2004 that shows this car Appraised at $8500.00
