Vehicle Detail
Reluctantly selling my Triumph roadster. Barn find !!!Super rare and very sought after Triumph 1800 "rumbleseat". All aluminum coachwork. She needs complete restoration but is about 95% complete and original. Only some minor things are missing, all major components are there. MECHANICAL: Complete drivetrain right down to the column shift. Mechanically the only item I noticed missing was part of the air cleaner. Car rolls and steers.transmission is complete and shifts. Brakes are free.Frame is rusted out in some places and will require those sections to be replaced. She is 100% complete and untouched on the undercarriage. ELECTRICAL; Complete and original including the guages and wires. The expensive headlights are there as are the right lenses and the turn indicators for the front. Only one trafficator is present and needs repair. Generator and regulator are original. BODY; The body is super straight and unmolested. Only one older repair to the steel fender as shown. The body was stripped of all paint sometime and it shows well and reveals that no bodywork was ever done to those areas(see pics)90% of the wood is solid and holds shape, but there will be a few places that need attention. The dash is the worst and all that is shown is what is present. It is good for patterns, but is completely shot except for 2 top pieces that are window garnish. Doors are complete with all chrome and glass. They are simply set in place to show they exist, but the hinges need to be oiled and freed to prevent damaging the aluminum posts. They have not been tweeked and were obviously removed quite some time ago. The windscreen in the back is in perfect shapebut it cannot be raised without working the hinge,so I left it folded down. This also was to prevent damaging the body. It is complete with all the brass hardware. The rumble seat/deck lid/boot cover/whatever you call it is in perfect shape and opens fine. The liscense plate holder is there as shown is the pics with the parts. Bumpers are incomplete and the only parts I have are shown in the parts pic.Brackets are there.Grille is in great shape, few minor dings but the chrome is nice. I do not have the cap for the shell.Windshield is present and very nice.all 3 wiper trannys are present. Front fenders have very few dings and one rust repair as noted prior. The front edge was bent as shown. No rust thru in fenders.Wood floor templates are there for the front, but not behind the seat. Trunk wood is there. TOP; Top bows are mostly complete except that the right side wood, foward,is missing and I suspect was rotted. The opposite one is present and can be used as a reverse template. The top header is present and in good shape. All hardware is there as are the hinges. The back glass with all the chrome is also there. No top material at all. ENGINE; Engine and tranny are there and complete. There are extra parts from what appears to be the old head. Looks like the engine was done over with a new head gasket. I could not pull the engine thru by hand because I was starting to bend the aluminum fan blade and stopped. I did not give it a great effort because ,most likely, she will turn thru. The is no sign of any corrosion in the carb or engine top to indicate any bad weather intrusion. She is 100% complete under the hood . SUMMARY: Here you have a very rare post war Truimph that will turn heads at any show in any condition. Yes, it's a wierdo with that rumble seat made for children, but how cool is that?? Tell me when the last one of these for sale was listed....The restored ones are stiff money...over 50,000$ This is a true barn find. She will be sold ONLY with a bill of sale ,although she can be redocumented quite easily. Background stolen vehicle report done through Baltimore city abandoned vehicle sales proved no theft or loss just this February. Export docs available for a small fee. I am close to the port of Baltimore if you need to get a shipping rate to ..say..England !! She is sold without a reserve,so bid to own,but no games.
