It is a numbers matching car. It has the notorious CLEVELAND 351 engine and automatic transmission with factory A/C. The car is ALL ORIGINAL>>>> it has a complete original interior, down to the Radio. Inside the car we discovered most of the missing emblems, badges, and trimming not currently on the car. We even uncovered the original gas cap. The car Starts, runs, and drives. It has ALL original body panels, plastics, and components. Inside the car ALL of the gauges work, the radio works, the speakers still make noise, the interior blower fans work. To our amazement the A/C compressor still works! it kicks on and off although it was not tested for cold air. The interior lamps all work, inside the glove box we found literature, original owners manuals, radio manuals, and warranty information from 73'. (see pictures and videos) The car has an original spare matching wheel, and even original body and engine decals. The car does not burn oil it runs well it drives, the transmission works well, tachometer and speedometer work. The oil pressure gauge does not work, a new one was installed and re-located on the lower part of the dash sometime in its previous life (see video/pictures). The windows roll up and down, the passenger door only opens from the outside. The locks work the seats are ORIGINAL and in great condition, the carpets are also in great condition for its age. The floor pans look great in some parts and have holes in others (see pictures). The clock does not appear to be working. The ceiling is hanging down, the glass is all in excellent shape, the dash pad is cracked, the rear seats are excellent, the interior is complete. There is a hole under the carpet in the floor pan on the drivers side (piece of metal was placed to prevent sagging). The exterior is rusty around the wheel wells, the color and paint is ALL original, it is the desirable baby blue with black iconic Mach combination. The plastic lamps all look decent there is rust and holes in some parts of the car. The car has original brake lines, original fuel lines, original engine original floors everything is original. The odometer reads 98,802. everything seems to be in working order on the car, just as it was working in the 80's when it was impounded. STORY OF OWNERS AND LIFE OF CAR: This car was found in an impound facility in Upstate New Jersey last year. The car belonged to a gentleman originally from Sussex New Jersey (as far as we know) (owner #1). The car was purchased off the show room floor and was utilized from 1973- til 1986. In late 86' The car was impounded after the police made arrests and towed cars off a new jersey turn pike due to illegal racing. The car was then taken to an impound yard where it sat exposed to the weather for a few years. After a few years passed, the owner of the vehicle was forced to surrender the title to the owner of the Impound lot who then acquired ownership. (owner #2). since 1986 the car has been stored in a few remote locations and independent garages off the premises of the impound lot until 1996 when it was last run and moved from a garage to the garage on the impound lot. The car deteriorated over time and the owner of the impound yard/ towing business passed in 2008, leaving behind 300+ cars in a lot (the cars were sold off each individually by the family). In 2008 the owner of the impound lot (owner # 2) passed. According to the surviving family of the owner of the towing company and impound lot, ( this is the individual who impounded the car and had it in storage for 20+ years), the car was never really driven. It was just moved from garage to garage. It was the center of attention for individuals who often came to pick up cars at the impound lots. this car was parked and moved or started sporadically. After all of the cars were sold this mustang was all that remained and forgotten until the surviving family decided to sell properties and assets via power of attorney. (owner # 3) The new owner of the mustang (who I am listing this car for) was contacted by the survivor of the estate who was selling the properties, and that's when the car was uncovered from the back of a desolate garage in an abandoned impound lot. He did not register the car since it is un-restored. The current owner contacted me, and Both the current Owner and myself physically went to the resting place of the vehicle with a flatbed to pick it up (last of 300+ cars that were sold from the passing of owner 2 in 2008). When we found the car there was about an inch of dust covering the car and it sat on 4 flat tires. The car looked abandoned and had no keys. The car was a mess. Aftermath since found to present: In 2011-2012 the car was pulled from it's resting place and brought to a registered repair facility in Middletown NY where the car was drained of ALL fluids. New keys and ignition cylinder were installed, a new battery was installed and the carburetor was rebuilt. the fuel was drained and new fuel was introduced. oil was added to the cylinders to free up a possible sticky engine, The car also received new plugs and new wires. The cars brakes were bled and checked and made functional. The cooling system was flushed and checked, all vacuum hoses checked, replaced any broken part, plugs and wires were installed the transmission was checked, differential oils checked, new fluids introduced and car was started. CONCLUSION: The car is ENTIRELY original. This car after years of being abandoned was given a chance to live. The car currently runs and drives, brakes work, interior works all gauges work radio works, windows work, does not burn oil does not overheat engine is LOUD (exhaust was cut due to possible muffler clog) gas tank was checked needs body work. Unfortunately This car is for sale because the owner has no place to keep it while its being restored. The owner has agreed to sell the car and move to new projects. This would make an EXCELLENT candidate for a complete restoration. I HIGHLY suggest watching ALL of the videos and looking at ALL the pictures HAPPY BIDDDING!!
