This is a completely restored (every part removed/cleaned/detailed) car made from the best pieces of two ravaged Spitfires. All traces of rust have been removed, floors reinforced. It's a solid amateur restoration job: Not a concours candidate, but a very pretty result. It's a fresh restoration, so it will need fine-tuning. Has been driven at more than 60 mph. All normal wear parts are new: brakes, clutch, tires, etc. New convertible top, upholstery and carpeting. Gauges (fuel, temperature and speedometer) are flaky; will require some attention. Runs nicely, with more than ample power for this light car. Original Stromberg carburetor has been replaced with a new Weber. Original steel wheels have been replaced with real wire wheels with knock-off hubs. Three caveats: 1) This is not a car for large or tall people. (I'm almost 6 feet tall and long in the trunk; the top of the windshield sits right in the middle of my view.) 2) You need to be mechanically inclined or have a good mechanic to own this thing. It's British. The Weber carb will save a lot of aggravation, but the rest of it is still British. 3) It's a fair-weather automobile. With the top up, see warning No. 1. And there's no way it would remain very dry in a serious rainstorm. But it's pretty, and it's fun.
