Bombardier NEV (neighborhood electric vehicle) The Canadian built Bombardier NEV, was first introduced in Arizona in 1998 then for sale in California and Florida in 1999. The NEV is intended to be a household's second or third car, it isn't designed to fulfill all your transportation needs. This car, which is golf-cart-like in overall stature, measuring in at just over eight feet in length, is designed for close-proximity driving. Its top speed is a leisurely 30 mph (governed) with a single-charge range of about 30 miles; it is well suited for travel during around-town errands. The NEV is fully electric and fully self-contained with on board charger; recharge time is from 1 to 8 hours from any standard wall outlet. The cost of operation is about 2 cents per mile. It has a composite uni-body with front and rear steel sub-frames, four-wheel independent suspension, hydraulic drum brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, seat belts, and automotive lighting. This particular car has detachable doors to add further car-like ambiance (a $700. option). NEV's are Street Legal and insurable in British Columbia under ICBC's Low Speed Vehicle Requirements and in most US states. It is also accepted on most golf courses. CONDITION: The car is in very good condition with no accidents, dents or scrapes. The glass is good as are the side curtains. The tires are original and in almost new condition. The vehicle has not been used and will need new batteries from sitting. I do not remember the mileage but it is very low.HISTORY: I bought this car in Florida for $8800.00 several years ago intending to use it regularly, however I live on an acreage and soon discovered that I needed a truck style vehicle for yard work.
