Vehicle Detail
I am a member of the International Mustang Bullitt Owners Club ( IMBOC.com ) and am selling my Bullitt Mustang to benefit the Boys Republic School in Chino Hills, CA. This is the school Steve McQueen went to as a teenager. He always credited the Boys Republic for preventing him from choosing a life of crime. Half of the $20,000 price of my Mustang will go to the Boys Republic. The other half will be applied to my project to create a 2013 Mustang GT that's a Boys Republic tribute Mustang, which will be used to promote the work of the Boys Republic as well as the cause of values-based education in general. One of the more unique features of this Bullitt Mustang: Chad McQueen signed the dash (next to a replica of his father's signature) at last year's Friends of Steve McQueen Car Show. In buying my Bullitt Mustang, you will both be getting a car that loves to be driven and has been my pride and joy for the last 4+ years as well as helping support the work of a highly respected educational fascility: one which teaches real life skills to its students. I purchased this Bullitt Mustang from Dutch's Ford in Mt. Sterling, KY on May 10, 2008 and drove it home to NYC, where it was garaged and never driven in the snow. I drove it cross-country when I moved to California in May of 2011. It has been garaged for the entire time since I made this move. I have clear title to this car. This is my daily driver. Because I only drove it on business trips to places like Philadelphia and Washington DC while living in NYC, it had only 14,000 miles on it when I arrived in California in May of 2011. It now has 32,000+ miles on it, as a result of several trips up the California coast and having just participated in the IMBOC "Legend Lives Tour" along Route 66 from Chicago to Chino Hills, CA, where it was displayed at the Friends of Steve McQueen Charity Car Show at the Boys Republic School. This Mustang is in perfect mechanical condition. I have changed the oil every 3000 miles, replaced the tires at the 26,000 mile mark after picking up a nail in one of them, replaced the seat covers to freshen up the interior at the same time (and to eliminate the result of a chemical spill on the passenger's seat from when someone was cleaning the car). The complete vehicle history will be provided to anyone with a serious interest in buying this one of a kind Bullitt Mustang. Mechanically, it is completely stock; except I had after market front seat extension rails installed to make it easier for me to get in and out of the car in tight parking lot situations. (When you slide the motorized driver's seat all the way back, you don't have to open the door so wide to get out. Very handy in certain parking lot situations.) Also, the manual transmission has always worked perfectly. There is a TSB on this transmission, if it has a defect. Mine does not have this defect. Cosmetically, I added body colored side mirror covers and radiator side covers. I also installed a hood strut lift kit and deleted the hood prop rod. And I purchased a full size spare and modified the trunk trim so the spare fits under the trunk floor. Bullitt Mustangs did not come with a spare tire, not even a space saver spare. They only come with a can of goo and an electric air pump. In buying my Bullitt Mustang, you will have the extra security of a full size spare! Finally, I installed a Show N Go front license plate holder, which means there are no holes in the front bumper. The license plate is attached to a frame which can slide under the front bumper for when you're at a car show and want the front of your Bullitt Mustang to have that clean look. I bought this particular Bulllitt Mustang because it has standard (not HID) headlights, a normal radio (so there is no satellite antennae on the trunk), and the Shaker 500 sound system (so there is no woofer taking up valuable trunk space). It does have a dealer-installed Ford alarm system, wheel locks, and a locking gas cap. I will be happy to share the complete history of this remarkable vehicle with you, as well as my plans to create a 2013 Mustang GT that is a Boys Republic Tribute Mustang. Thanks for your interest! I look forward to hearing from you!
