STOP! Please read this!!! If you have ever owned a collector car that you didn't restore yourself , you know that the biggest problems come from not knowing exactly what work was done before you bought it? When was it done and by who?. For example,some people will say that the motor has been rebuilt or replaced but you have no idea of where it came from or what internal work has been done? Here is a very special "body on" 1957 Oldsmobile super 88 2 dr hardtop that is not only beautiful to look at and drive, it also comes withover 50 pages of documention listing EVERYTHING that has been done along with the names, addresses, and in most cases, phone #'s of the people who did the work. It's better than buying a used car with a "carfax" report. Many thousands of dollors and many hundreds of hours were spent bringing this beauty to it's current condition and now all you have to do is enjoy the car. You can take the family for a criuse or a long trip or you can you can go to a car show and bring home the "best of show" trophy as i did just this week!. Obviously i can't list everything that the documents show but i have listed some important info below. ___________________________EXTERIOR___________________________________________________________________ I really hope that you can see by the photos how very nice the exterior of this car is. The boby is as straight as an arrow. The paint is a dazzling red with a mirror finish that looks like you could reach 6 feet into it. All seams fit properly. The hood,trunk, and doors align correctly.The chrome is perfect. Bumpers,grill, light bezels,emblems,window trim,door handles &moldings are just great. The windshield is brand new as of a week ago. The old windshield had a small chip in it so rather than repair it i decided to put in a new windshield and new molding.All the window glass is clear and the windows operate properly. All lenses are clear and damage free. All lights work properly. The trunk has a original type "like new" spare tire and a 57 Olds bumper jack. The continental kit was manufactured by "specialized automotive marketing" and made to Oldsmobile specs. The "Coker" P215/75R14" whitewall tires are brand new with less the 20 miles on them The wheel covers are damage free. __________________________________INTERIOR____________________________________________________________________ The interior of this car is as nice as the exterior. The seats are done in matching red&white and seat belts have been added for safety. The white headliner is in perfect condition as are the door panels. There is matching red carpet that show off the aftermarket pedels. The dash is just beautifull. The chrome dazzles. the glass is clear and damage free. The paint is flawless. Ther are some aftermarket gauges mounted under the dash. A custom (USA-1 chrome 57 Oldsmobile") radio and speakers have been professionally installed. Check out the nicely placed A/C vents under the dash. Everything was done first class. _________________________________ MECHANICAL_______________________________________________________________ The 350ci. engine came from a70 Olds convertible and was installed in Nov. 05. after rebuilding it and installig a new "Comp Cams" 260. cam. New magnum roller rocker arms made by "Comp Cams". Magnafluxed 350ci. heads. New "Edelbrock performer 350 intake and Edelbrock 750carb. New radiator, water pump, hoses,etc.annd more.There is a rebuilt turbo 400 automatic transmission and a new stall torque converter. The car runs perfectly. The power steering operates perfectly and the power brakes stop the car on a dime. The dual exhausts give off a great throaty sound out of the new chrome tips. ________________________________UNDERCARRIAGE_________________________________________________________________ Although this is a body on restoration, let me say that literally everything has been replaced or reconditioned and then cleaned and painted The entire drive train has been either replaced or refurbished including the gas tank. The same goes for the suspension. AND HERE'S THE BEST PART!, you'll get all the reciepts and documents with names, dates, & places !. ___________________________________ OVERVIEW___________________________________________________________________. If you are interested in owning a great 57 Olds super 88 that has show quality but isn't a trailor queen and won't cost you $$80K to buy, i think that it would be hard if not impossible to find a better one than this !.
