NO RESERVE AUCTION! Here's the story on this vehicle: I purchased it to re-sell, hoping to make a healthy profit and maybe do this several times a year to earn extra money. Well, it turns out that I'm not a very good used car salesman, I'm too honest and picky with cars. I won't hide something that is wrong with it just to make more $$. So what I've decided to do is just sell it for a little bit more than I have in it and allow somebody to have an inexpensive SUV for family vacation or the snow this winter. It would be great for towing a camper or boat and has LOADS of room. But aren't these big SUVs gas hogs? Yes, they can be, but this one REALLY surprised me. The previous owner told me that he got 20-21mpg on the highway and I was very skeptical. I took it on a 160 mile trip, not even on interstate and I averaged 20.8mpg. We get 16-17 around our little town. Obviously if you just beat the thing and smash the gas at every light you are going to get far far less. But if you drive it correctly, 20 mpg on the highway is obtainable, I can vouch for it. My in laws have one of these and they get 21/22 (2wd) with theirs on the highway. The truck is not perfect cosmetically: there are a few scratches, a missing hub cover (right rear), some surface rust in a few places (see pictures), there is a hole in the drivers seat, and the far rear passenger seats stitching has come undone. I would just cover it with a seat cover since the 3rd row seats are rarely seen, but you can get a new cushion at a junkyard for about $75. Here are the mechanical details: I took it to my mechanic and he checked it out, giving it an overall good bill of health. The air conditioning was not working when I got it, and sadly it was THE most expensive thing to repair on the vehicle. The rear AC lines leak so the whole system was out. Due to GMC brilliance, they ran the AC lines on the frame so the car must be separated from the frame for new ones. Not cool, and I wasn't doing that. What I am doing is having a professional shop (I'm NOT a mechanic!) block the rear lines and drain/recharge the AC system. What that means is that the rear AC will not work, but the front will work just fine. Everybody that has had this done has said it cools perfectly fine this way. I had the transmission pan dropped to make sure the transmission was good, and there were no shavings/etc. Mechanic said the tranny looked and shifted really well. He replaced the fluid and changed the filter. He did say there was a light low whine coming from the rear end. It could be a pinion bearing or the gears themselves. If I would keep the car I would simply take the cover off and inspect the rear end to see what was going on. My Lincoln Town Car has been making a similar noise for years and thousands and thousands of miles. I believe this one will do the same, but obviously I can't promise that. Personally I would place good fluid in there and drive it. Some people may not even hear the noise, but I did. Blue Book value is $8k private party. Feel free to come test drive it, bring your mechanic to inspect it. You may be a dealer and want to buy it at this wholesale price and then resell it. Call 814.599.2546 for more information. On Jun-06-12 at 18:13:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Just had the air fixed today! It works just fine! (The rear air is disabled, but the front works great!) We drove the truck tonight and are having second thoughts about selling it as it is a really nice driving vehicle. Very comfortable!
