I have owned this Fairmont coupe for about a year now and have come to the realization that I would rather restore my Ford F100 truck. When I bought this car, I drove it 600 miles to Pensacola, Florida without any problems. The engine purrs and the transmission shifts crisply and as it should,. I also pulled down over 22 mpg. frankly, I was amazed at the mileage, as my old Mustang didn't even come close.Mechanically, the car is in very good condition. The body is nice. The paint is shiny, but I would repaint as there are places that really do not match the rest of the paint.The interior could use work, as the carpet is ratty and the front and back seats don't match. They are in good shape, though. I have installed a Mustang GT Dash, but the original one will go with the car. Glass is in perfect condition.The trunk still has the original carpeting. The aluminum bumpers are in excellent shape with no discoloration or dents. All lights work.The radio sounds great, but the speaker installation was less than satisfactory and I am in the process of correcting that.Drive this car home in complete confidence. Compressor has a bad clutch, but system was pressure-tested and is sound. All lenses are in good condition. Nothing missing or cracked. The front and rear seats have matching upholstery patterns, but the rear seat is black and the front bucket seats are not. The upholstery is in good shape, just not matching.
