Vehicle Detail
1948 Dodge Custom D24 with Fluid Drive. I have owned this car for 25 years and I bought it from the second owner. There are 79,360 original miles. Over those years I only used this car in a few parades and shows and put on very little mileage. It always ran well and started right up. For personal reasons I stopped using the car about three years ago and it just sat in my garage. So, now it does not start and has not run since, so the purchaser will have to arrange for a flat-bed to pick it up. But, as you can see in the photos, it is a good looking car. The body is in very good condition. You can see that the emblems are all there, along with the great hood ornament. And, the windshield shade is in excellent shape - which is usually hard to find. It is missing one wheel cover and one piece of trim on the right side, but all the rest of it is there and there are no dings or body rust areas. There is just some small surface rust spots on some of the trim but it is definitely not bad. The interior is all original but the fabric seats have worn through in some spots. That is the way they were when I got the car in 1987 so I just have a blanket covering the front seat. There is some staining on the cloth on the inside of the doors and on the headliner but it is not torn. The dash is in good shape with only some of the paint worn off on the steering wheel and a few other spots. All 4 tires are practically new and have the wide white walls which look great. And, the great feature is the suicide rear doors which gives easy access to the rear seat area, which is huge. The original owner was from PA and as you can see in the photo, I have the original 1948 PA license plate to go with the car.
