They were taken on Wednesday. The photos here on ebay were taken this morning- Thursday May 17, 2012. I have owned a lot of cars in my life, this is the nicest car of all, without any question. I have enjoyed owning it, but its time to let it go. I will describe it in full detail. I have taken about 170 pictures so bidders have every angle I could possibly think of....and then some. I got the car I wanted for about 23 years last year (1964 Bonneville Safari) This is why (in part) the GTO is being sold....as a rule, people sell things when they need money, or want it for something else, so this applies as well. The story was perfect when this car came up for sale... it was not on ebay. A journeyman electrician finally convinced his neighbor (Im fairly certain it was the original owner) to sell him this GTO. It had its org. paint and was an org. car, with NO RUST, and NO BODY DAMAGE. The body was taken off the frame and the frame was powder coated. PPG paint was used, and from what I can tell, no corners were cut when restoring the car. All the rubber was replaced, doors, windows, etc. The front end and entire suspension has been rebuilt...springs, bushings, moving parts, etc. New KYB shocks, disc brakes, fittings, booster, on and on... Some of the badges, headlight chrome and stainless are original, not rechromed, not replaced.... again, this is a low mile original car. Anyone in question of this, needs to look at the photo of the windshield that shows a "California Highway Patrol Inspection Sticker" from...... 1974 .....that is on the original windshield...... What this means to me, and should to the jaundice eye, is that the car was in a place (garage) for about 35+ years...again, this is the story I got when I bought it, that it was not driven much in the last 35 years. This is not a "barn find" with mice, rust, previous shotty work or cover up job car. The car was ordered with a 433 ratio rear end, and this would certainly explain why it was not a 300k mile car. I think the odometer shows 25700 or so....It now has a 331 posi track rear end ratio. It has disc brakes which were added when it was restored. The 400 engine code is WT. The heads say 670. It has HO manifolds. I am sure all the glass is org. and in excellent shape. The antenna appears to be org and correct. The interior is like new, or is new? The paint is simply wonderful. The engine is just right, sounds good, powerful, as the video shows. The underside of the car could be eaten off of... by this I mean you could dump a can of peaches anywhere on the underside of the car and eat them... Its every bit as nice as the rest of the car. I have put about 1000 miles a year on the car at the most (totaling around 4000-5000) Every fall I have changed the oil and filter. I have never touched the transmission, carb, rear end, electical, ...ANYTHING... NOTHING... I have left the car alone. I did wax it, and someone could go around and toothbrush off the wax in the tiny cracks/areas if they really were fussy. The trunk is perfect, all the interior and exterior lights work.. YES, ALL OF THEM... EVERY ONE. The spedo is about 8 miles an hour slow if I remember right, the radio does not play ( I dont know why, never looked) The reverse lights dont light up (dont know why) It has the org dash that has a crack, it came this way when I bought it, and hasnt seemed to offend anyone yet. All the body panels and stainless/chrome trim are fitted nicely, not a big crack on one end, and rubbing the adjoining panel on the other...not a wrecked or tweaked car... IT IS STRAIGHT AND SOLID. I have never raced the car, so I cant tell you what it will do in the quarter mile. I have had it in 3 car shows at the most..... not many people in Boise have even seen the car, it rarely leaves the special room in my shop that is mice proofed, fully insulated, and painted ...right down to an epoxy floor and mulit colored painted walls with can lights... it has been TAKEN CARE OF FROM THE TIME IT WAS RESTORED UNTIL NOW. The only rain the car has seen since it was restored is when it was unloaded from the classic car transport the night I got it, when it was backed into my garage... and wiped down...it has not seen snow either...just in case you were wondering.... This sums up the description. I will be shocked if the car doesnt meet reserve very quickly, so if you are serious, the buy it now may be a really good idea. It's not just for sale, it will be sold. The plates dont go with the car, in Idaho, we keep the license plates. The car can stay here for a bit, and wont be driven or started until picked up. I am gone alot, so will need at least a day in advance notice for pick up. I am an easy pick up.. no issues for big trucks at all. PLEASE.... dont buy this car if your wife /husband/partner or dog doesnt want you to have something nice, or you are waiting for a wealthy relative to die so you can pay for it.... I just dont want to have to relist it because this is a fantasy for someone... I require $500.00 if you hit the buy it now within 24 hours. I cant think of anything else, the photos should tell on me if I have... I have never taken so many... but this car warrants them. I have owned a lot of cars in my life, this is the nicest car of all, without any question. I have enjoyed owning it, but its time to let it go. I will describe it in full detail. I have taken about A LOT of pictures so bidders have every angle I could possibly think of....and then some.
I got the car I wanted for about 23 years last year (1964 Bonneville Safari) This is why (in part) the GTO is being sold....as a rule, people sell things when they need money, or want it for something else, so this applies as well.
The story was perfect when this car came up for sale... it was not on ebay. A journeyman electrician finally convinced his neighbor (Im fairly certain it was the original owner) to sell him this GTO. It had its org. paint and was an org. car, with NO RUST, and NO BODY DAMAGE. The body was taken off the frame and the frame was powder coated. PPG paint was used, and from what I can tell, no corners were cut when restoring the car. All the rubber was replaced, doors, windows, etc. The front end and entire suspension has been rebuilt...springs, bushings, moving parts, etc. New kyb shocks, disc brakes, fittings, booster, on and on... Some of the badges, headlight chrome and stainless are original, not rechromed, not replaced.... again, this is a low mile original car. Anyone in question of this, needs to look at the photo of the windshield that shows a "California Highway Patrol Inspection Sticker" from...... 1974 that is on the original windshield...... What this means to me, and should to the jaundice eye, is that the car was in a place (garage) for about 35+ years...again, this is the story I got when I bought it, that it was not driven much in the last 35 years. This is not a "barn find" with mice, rust, previous shotty work or cover up job car. The car was ordered with a 433 ratio rear end, and this would certainly explain why it was not a 300k mile car. I think the odometer shows 25700 or so....It now has a 331 posi track rear end ratio. It has disc brakes which were added when it was restored. The 400 engine code is WT. The heads say 670. It has HO manifolds. I am sure all the glass is org. and in excellent shape. The antenna appears to be org and correct. The interior is like new, or is new? The paint is simply wonderful. The engine is just right, sounds good, powerful, as the video shows. The underside of the car could be eaten off of... by this I mean you could dump a can of peaches anywhere on the underside of the car and eat them... Its every bit as nice as the rest of the car.
I have put about 1000 miles a year on the car at the most. Every fall I have changed the oil and filter. I have never touched the transmission, carb, rear end, electical, ...ANYTHING... NOTHING... I have left the car alone. I did wax it, and someone could go around and toothbrush off the wax in the tiny cracks/areas if they really were fussy. The trunk is perfect, all the interior and exterior lights work.. YES, ALL OF THEM... EVERY ONE.
The spedo is about 8 miles an hour slow if I remember right, the radio does not play ( I dont know why, never looked) The reverse lights dont light up (dont know why) It has the org dash that has a crack, it came this way when I bought it, and hasnt seemed to offend anyone yet. All the body panels and stainless/chrome trim are fitted nicely, not a big crack on one end, and rubbing the adjoining panel on the other...not a wrecked or tweaked car... IT IS STRAIGHT AND SOLID.
I have never raced the car, so I cant tell you what it will do in the quarter mile. I have had it in 3 car shows at the most..... not many people in Boise have even seen the car, it rarely leaves the special room in my shop that is mice proofed, fully insulated, and painted ...right down to an epoxy floor and mulit colored painted walls with can lights... it has been TAKEN CARE OF FROM THE TIME IT WAS RESTORED UNTIL NOW. The only rain the car has seen since it was restored is when it was unloaded from the classic car transport the night I got it, when it was backed into my garage... and wiped down...it has not seen snow either...just in case you were wondering....

The plates dont go with the car, in Idaho, we keep the license plates. The car can stay here for a bit, and wont be driven or started until picked up. I noticed when I took the photos this morning that the ash trays are missing from the back arm rests. I dont have them, but they are certainly available. The car is being sold as is, no warranties, no free towing service, no "ran out of gas" delivery, or flat tire repairs . I have a clear clean title in my name undated, unsigned, no leans, no issues.
I cant think of anything else, the photos should tell on me if I have... I have never taken so many... but this car warrants them.
