Vehicle Detail
This is a 1966 Porsche 912, believe it is a factory red car with black leather interior. I purchased this car earlier this year it had been in storage for about 18 years, the body appears quite solid with little exterior rust, the rockers appear very solid, as do wheel arches etc. The interior is very nice for the age with original upholstery and low back seats, door panels are good, glass is good. I have tried to polish up the paint, but it will need a proper re-spray (was repainted at some point)The car was running and driving, but lost spark from the points to the wires. believe the condenser went, it has spark to the points, points open and close, but no spark to the plugs.trunk is solid, spare tire well is solid. floors have some rust on the outer skin (underside) as well as some rust to the right rear undercarriage. otherwise jacking points etc. all looks good.I have ordered a new condenser and cap, radio delete plate, rubber seal for the trunk and will include these parts with this auction. she turns over excellent, and fuel pump is working,l emergency brake works, brakes work but sometimes stick and will need doing. I will be traveling with work this summer, and wont have time to get her finished, so selling as she is. I have all the engine bay tin, spare wheels, hubcaps, etc. all included This is not a show car, but a good start to a restoration. open to reasonable offers. On May-15-12 at 20:51:33 PDT, seller added the following information:I have added a few more pictures of the interior. also, the paint code is 6602 polo red. I looked for the serial number on the block, see a number starting with 616 on the pulley, believe this is the correct engine. I am picking up a new cap, condenser and points tomorrow, I am hoping to get her running and driving tomorrow afternoon. I will update the add once I get the parts on. even though the body looks pretty solid, I would expect that this car should be restored. being sold as as, as a project car. and yes, I will sell to bidders anywhere in the world, but shipping costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I have the car in dry storage in my garage, and can remain here until picked up (within a reasonable time frame) any questions, please feel free to ask :)On May-16-12 at 17:54:25 PDT, seller added the following information:I put on a new distributor cap and condensor today, she started momentarily, but now the starter solenoid is stuck, so when I turn the key it clicks, rather then turns over. I am going to leave it for now, I don't have the time to tinker at the moment. I have included pictures of the worst spots (right rear corner near susp. mount, and belly pan under drivers side.) incidentally, the floor boards themselves seem really good. i lifted a bit of the carpet, floor look quite good. I am hoping to be as honest as possible with this add. thank you for your questions, I will answer all as soon as I can :)On May-17-12 at 14:39:35 PDT, seller added the following information: the windshield has since developed a crack (verically) near the passenger door frame. did receive the extra parts in the mail today, will include with the car.
