I am selling our Mercedes 300 D which I converted to run on waste vegetable oil (WVO). This car has the stock 3.0 liter 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine. This make and model of car is touted as being perfect for WVO partially due its mechanical fuel injection. This was the first of three WVO conversions I have completed. All of these using the Greasecar system. This particular car is the property of Yukon Public Schools of Yukon, OK. As a Teacher and Club Sponsor I bought the car with school vending machine funds and a grant. The conversion was completed with some student help (which I later corrected). The conversion included a complete and parallel WVO fuel system and onboard transfer pump and heated filter. This car's exterior was painted by the Auto Body department at Canadian Valley Technology Center. It has been used as a basis for alternative fuel vehicles in our Environmental Science class, and as a parade "float" in Yukon's annual Czech Parade for our Science Club. I say all this just to make this point: This car gets started only 2 or 3 times a year for the last 4 years. It starts and runs without a hitch each time, and looks great doing it! Although, last Fall I finally had to buy a new battery before the parade. This car has been stored inside a locked hangar for the last 3 years. I was so impressed with this car that I bought my wife the same model and converted it as well. Hers is a daily driver. Our second vehicle is also a Greasecar. I have complete confidence in the system and have, on several occasions, driven across the country using only WVO and a little diesel. This is an excellent opportunity to break into the world of WVO using a proven system manufactured by a reputable company installed in a tank of a vehicle. I will be happy to consult on building your vegetable oil filtering system and finding oil sources. This car was assembled as the ultimate example of sustainable fuel. The car is equipped with a 12V pump and heated filter in the trunk which would enable the owner to actually draw used oil directly from the back of the restaurant, heat it, filter it, and then fill the auxiliary fuel tank all within the trunk. The vinyl lettering is all low temperature and can be removed using a regular hairdryer. I will trailer this car 100 miles in any direction from Yukon, OK. I will consult with the buyer on successful filtration methods for WVO and include a full tank with purchase of the vehicle.
