First off this is NOT a factory police car, rather it is a highly optioned 1979 St Regis that I was going to turn into a Police Lieutenant’s car and take to car shows. It is a 360 4 bbl J code car from California, therefore very little rust. The transmission is freshly rebuilt. The car has 4 new Monroe shocks installed.The interior is very good; the seats are rip free, being from the west there was some sun fading. The front seats are lightly bleached out but not as bad as they appear in the photo. That was just how the camera picked them up in the direct sunlight. I repainted some of the interior panels with the factory color. This car has most of the options available that year like: 360 4 bbl, power seats, power locks, power trunk release, upper fender turn signal indicators, tilt wheel and deluxe cloth seats. I have most of the items needed to transform the Dodge to a police car that are available at extra cost like: New carter thermo quad, factory big slot 15" police rims, the police interceptor dual snorkel air cleaner, the vented hubcaps and the certified 125 MPH police speedometer. I also have the two volume factory shop manuals and the late model Chrysler Infiniti radio with new speakers front and rear and a working factory AM FM CB radio. The previous owner had dual exhaust installed without the cats. Now for the bad news, there is one spot of rust on the LH quarter from a trunk leak that will need attention. The trunk still leaks too, I think the deck lid is not sitting down far enough, I am told this is a simple adjustment. The motor is knocking badly and leaking a mix of oil and antifreeze from the rear of engine, some major catastrophe occurred and a new engine is needed. This also means the car cannot be test driven and after purchase it will need to be towed. AutoZone will sell you a warrantied 360 for about $1600. The paint is also faded and one of the previous owners tried to rub it out and there a few bare spots. The carpet has a few cigarette burns. The head liner is coming down. Rear package tray needs to be recovered. Dash pad is bleached out, needs re paint; No cracks on it though. The RF wheel well trim is bent, removed. Bumpers need re plating and the rubber bumper body fillers are sun rotted and falling apart. I have better filler panels that I will include for the asking price. The tires have good tread but some are dry rotted. A very rare Mopar that was only in production for three years and not many were saved. I would love to finish this project myself but finances and space will not allow it. Similar Mopar police cars have sold on eBay for between 4K and 12K.
