Vehicle Detail
1949 Ford Custom Convertible My neighbor owns this car, a retired Federal judge who is moving. He has owned the car for over 16 years. The car is rust free and has a standard L-head cast iron 239 ci engine, with no modifications. The car runs very well. The car has had one repaint from red to gun metal gray metallic exterior, with a gray and fez red interior, which is correct for the period. The car has factory new old stock windshield washer system, the original convertible top pump and motor are still in place and have been cosmetically restored, however the top is now actually controlled by a modern hydraulic pump located under the rear seat operated by the same control as the original pump. The top however does need adjustment to get the air out of the system. The car has a radio, heater, clock, power top. The car is currently registered. The correct mileage is unknown, the judge is not sure why the odometer only reads 135. He thinks he had it replaced sometime ago, he hasn't driven his cars very much. The exterior body panels are straight, and the interior looks very good. Please see all photos showing condition of the car – bid accordingly. I would place this car as a solid #3 car. It's a nice Sunday Driver, it’s all there, and looks good. AUCTION TERM & CONDITIONS This vehicle is being sold "as-is" with no warranty expressed or implied.
