INTRODUCTION As I've just recently learned, there is a lot of interest in these vehicles. Therefore, this will be a rather lengthy introduction to the provenance of this particular 323. If you're not interested, skip to the end for the particulars of the car. HISTORY I have known this vehicle since the early 90s and its owner longer. His family was in the auto sales business forever and he had several fine vehicles. This car was sold to his family's company as it the dealer's mechanics could not get it started. The dealership sold it, along with several others, to his father. The owners brother-in-law had the car running in 15 minutes (He also has maintained the vehicle since and will be available to answer questions to bidders over $1K if it goes that far.) Owner wanted it and kept it as one of his favorites until his death. Six months prior to the owners death, he had the brother-in-law replace the timing belt, plugs, turbo lag adjust, etc. However, the clutch began slipping so he drove it to his family's shop for repair and his life ended before the car was repaired. The car sat, was finally moved outside and around, and nothing else was done with it. I watched it die over the years and finally got a chance to purchase it with the intention of keeping as a project. No such luck. CONDITION - GOOD NEWS Though unbelievably sunbaked by years of UV, the primer held so metal hasn't been exposed for rust on the body.The interior is in very good shape, though stained. So far I've found one hole in the rear seat less than a half inch in diameter.Original and unmodified.No leaks I've found inside and we've had some good storms. No cracks in any glass.All lenses are undamaged except for one with the beginning of a crack.All trim is in place and in good condition. CONDITION - BAD NEWS Clutch is known to be bad.Rats have chewed the wiring in several places under the hood (Photos will be sent to those interested).There are some dings from being moved over the years (Photos will be sent to those interested).Broken sunroof handle (I did it 2 days ago closing it).Dry rotted tires.Obviously, whatever peripherals will be needed after sitting for many years.
