I am selling this car for my dad. We aquired this car about three years ago at an estate sale in freehold township, nj. When we purchased it the car had not been out of the garage since 1990. The woman's parents were the original owner's of the car so my dad is the second owner. It still had the original brown title when we bought it. Although it was garaged kept, her parents had stored items on top of the car which had damaged the paint in areas. We had the car repainted to the pinkish color that it is. We also had a brand new $1,000 convertible top installed. It is a cloth type top much like the mercedes benz roofs. From there my dad had a new exhaust installed, new brake calipers and lines, new gas tank, new fuel sending unit, new alternator, new battery, belts, complete tune up (distributor cap, rotor, wires, spark plugs, fuel filter). We also had the hoses replaced, and thermostat with thermostat housing. Also the carb has been rebuilt. The transmission has been redone and resealed with all new gaskets and the transmission cable has been replaced. The car also just passed New Jersey inspection and is good for two years. My dad has spent a lot of money restoring his toy but has focused on other projects now that he is retired and is ready for this car to go to a new home. This was the last year of non fuel injection and the first year for automatic transmissions. The tires still have good tread but are cracking on the sidewalls. I have researched a lot of fiats and see they rust out a lot, this one being garaged its whole life has held up very well. Minor bubbles in a few spots but no rot. Floors and trunk are very solid. Interior is in pretty good shape, but still could use some minor cleaning. All gauges seem to work as they should and radio plays nicely. I am 6'1 and used to driving my big cars but this is definitely fun to drive and gets plenty of looks wherever it goes. The car runs good and has an original 86,000 miles. Also comes with original parade boot to cover top. Minor TLC would make this car over the top. Due to the cars age it will be sold in AS-IS condition. Please ask any and all questions before bidding. SchoolboyOn Apr-26-12 at 20:53:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Some people have asked me what I mean by "TLC"- here goes, the plastic inner fender well on the passenger side will sometimes scrap the tire if turned all the way from what I am told this is a common thing and new inner plastic can be ordered. Two of the tires should be replaced on the rear if you are planning on driving it all the time, as the are no longer good. The little button is missing from the hazard switch. And the radiator could probably stand a good flushing. Hope this helps. Also with the sale of this automobile there is a black vinyl hard top with oval windows made by Dyna Plastics out of So.El Monte, California. I never had this top on the vehicle (although it came with it) since I wanted to show off the new beige cloth top that made this car really stand out. The original soft top was black vinyl and I changed the fabric and color after I had the vehicle painted.
