1976 GMC One Ton Dump Bed Truck Registration Current! SMOG CERTIFIED! 454 Cid. Engine, Turbo 400 Trans, Power Steering, Hydro Boost Power Brakes. ( front disc - rear drum) JUST PASSED SMOG INSPECTION 4 / 24 / 12. Inspection valid for 90 days so new owner wont need to get it smogged for 2 years! Condition is Rough and Tough. Body rust everywhere. But it Runs, Stops and Dumps. Headlights, turn signals, brake and taillights work. Speedometer works. Leaks oil and trans fluid enough to stain driveway. Requires TLC and vigilance for dependable service - Regularly check fluids, tire pressure etc. I purchased it in 1998 after moving on to 2 acres. Used it extensively for a couple of years during remodel, landscaping etc. EXTREMELY HANDY! I figured I would keep it until it failed a smog test, using it only a few times each year here and there. but it just keeps passing smog tests! I just don't have the need for it any more. It sits for months at a time but I have it down to science for dependable starting between long periods of non-use. I disconnect the battery when I park it. It can sit for months with a trickle charger on it then just check the tire pressure and fluids, connect the battery and spray starting fluid into the air intake and it starts every time! it just wont quit! ( but it looks like hell) Receipts that came with it when I bought it indicate the transmission was rebuilt at 14,205 mi. (114,205) In january of 1996. receipt for the hydraulic dump hoist shows it was purchased in july of 1993. I bought it in september of 1998 at 27,000 miles on the odometer. Now it is almost to 38,000 ( realistically 138,000) miles. Most of those were put on the first couple of years I had it. In recent years I only put a few hundred miles a year on it. It really is a waste for me to keep it but it it is great to go to dumps and tilt her up drop and go while all the other peasants are unloading their stuff by hand! p.s. 4 of its wheels are alcoa aluminum wheels!
