Vehicle Detail
Awesome old Sweptline 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive pickup, same owner from new till 2006. This truck is currently registered and driven daily. Original engine, tranny and rear end. The engine is a 318 that has been bored over, has a mild camshaft, headers, Offenhauser aluminum intake, and a Holley Performance series 600 cfm single feed 4bbl carb. Engine was done in approx 2007. We have no specs on it, but it is built. Tranny is the NP35 4 speed and works very good. Rear is a Spicer with 4.10 gears. Brakes are power and work good. The truck has no power steering. It originally had air conditioning, but most of it is gone now. It has a vintage hood mounted tachometer that works when it wants to, and a cool vintage vaccuum gauge on the dash. Underneath is very solid, body is really good for these trucks. The cowl is solid, does have some pin holes on the driver's side edge of the cowl cover, see the pics. Both rocker steps are very solid, but there are some pinholes on the outer rockers, no where near bad enough to replace them however. Bottom of both doors do have some rot, and doors are dented a bit, I feel it would be easier to replace the doors rather than fix them. Bottoms of both front fenders will need some repair, and the driver's side fender has a dent. Front edge of hood is rotted, easier to replace the entire hood. Box is very nice, tailgate is solid but has some dents, no rear bumper. Fuel system has been cleaned, and a complete tune up done, still needs a little fine tuning to idle correctly, probably timing, but it is driveable like it is. Very strong motor, this thing will burn rubber right through 4th gear. Front end is good, as well as the suspension. Have all records from '67 thru '06. Great truck for pulling your camper, boat, or drag car. These are what all the racers used back then. Any questions, please email. Located in Ocala, Florida, 34470. You can drive it or have it shipped. For shipping quotes, go to www.movecars.com and check with a dozen or so companies that they list, as they will all give you a different price. Must be paid for by cash, in full within 4 days of the auction's end. UPDATE: I just found in the repairs and maintenance log, the engine was completely rebuilt and bored .030 over with fresh heads, in September 1991 at 85,016 miles. Idle problem has been narrowed down to a gasket in the carb, which I will try to replace before the end of the auction.
