I have for sale a 1966 red mustang coupe that is a C-code with a 289 engine, i am not sure if it is the original engine and trans but i know the block is a period correct block stamped ford 289, so i am assuming the odds are pretty good its the original. The car runs but it currently needs a carb rebuild, you can hear the car run if gas is poured down the carb, it didnt start having carb problems until recently. I have been driving the car regularly and the engine runs fine and the trans has no issues, but with that said the car is a bit of a project since the carb needs work, it has a 2bbl on it and a 2bbl manifold setup. The carb does not have any markings on it so i am assuming it is a 2bbl autolite maybe the original. The interoir of the car has recenlty been updated with new carpet, new dashboard and rearview mirror. The headliner is also in good shape. all of the gauges worked the last time i drove it a little over a week ago. all of the lights work, the original radio is still in it but a newer radio has been installed that is working with a cd player and ipod hookup. The sound system sounds good. The driver seat has a few small tears in it that can be seen in the photos, the passanger also has one in a seem. the backseat is clean with no flaws or tears. The body of the car does have bondo in some spots. mainly the rear and also in some random spots. The body has rust which you can see in the photos, the only major area is the bottom of the driver door (photo). the trunk is clean and solid. the floorpans are original and solid except for a strip under the passanger seat that was patched with fiberglass. Both of the side mirrors on the outside of the car were moved back at one point and someone made an attempt at covering the holes up, thats what the pictures are of, it doesnt appear to be bondo just a type of metal filler. This car is being sold AS-IS. It could be a daily driver easliy or maybe with some hard work a full resto can be done.
