Up for action is my beautiful restored 1960 Bugeye Sprite. This may be one of the best Bugeye’s around. The car never placed less than 1st at any car show.The only reason I am selling the car, is I have latter stages of macular degeneration and will be losing my driving privileges soon. The car was stripped down to the bare tub and a full body rotisserie restoration performed by a professional body shop. The body was painted in base coat clear coat in original Old English White. The body is perfect top and bottom. The panel and door fits are perfect.Every part in the car is new or rebuilt. The engine was built by Mini Mania starting with a brand new 1275 A+ series block, crank, pistons and head. The size of the engine was increased to 1380 CC. The engine dyno tested @ 120 HP. Manaflow header and exhaust system installed. A Datsun 5 speed transmission was installed with a rebuilt 3.90 rear end. The car runs 70 MPH @ 3200 RPM. There is more than enough power for anyone with this engine and trans setup. Truly a fast and fun car to drive. The brake system was completely rebuilt and upgraded with later model disk brakes on the front and correct rear brakes. All new springs and rebuilt shocks were installed. Prior to installing an entire new interior and carpeting , the inside of the car was insulated with Kool Mat . This car never gets hot. A new custom red top was installed by a professional upholstery shop. New side curtains were also installed. Car comes with 2 unrestored hard tops. The 2 can be made into 1 hardtop.
