Vehicle Detail

This is a car that you can drive and enjoy immediately. Although the car is a 50-year-old classic, it has been very reliable to date. I will genuinely miss this car when it is gone. This is a 1962 TR4 convertible with a clear Wisconsin title and a collector’s registration. I bought the car in 2000. The car has only been driven between May and October each year since I have owned it. The car is a good driver, not a show car. Even so, the car has been used to drive officials in a local parade for a number of years, so it is a beautiful classic car from a distance. The body is in relatively good condition. A portion of the rocker panel on the left side of the car has a spot that is rusted through, as is shown in the photos. The paint has some flaws, but the vehicle looks great from a distance. I was going to have it repainted, but I have been having too much fun driving the car. I bought the car with bias ply tires, but I replaced them with steel belted radials several years ago. The car handles much better with the new tires, which have less than 1,000 miles on them. The frame appears to be in good condition. The top is in very good condition. I have had no serious problems with the engine, and the car has only needed minor service in the past. The car has always started right up in the spring, even after having been stored in a garage for 6 months. The seats are somewhat worn, as can be seen from the photos, but the carpeting and rest of the interior is in very good condition. The windshield has no cracks or chips, but it does have several marks where a previous owner allowed the wiper arms to scratch it. The electrics work, except for the windshield washer (electric substitute). Also, the right turn signal indicator adequately operates the turn lights, it does not always lock in position when switched and sometimes must be held in the on position. The gauges are domed glass. The battery was replaced about 2 years ago and works well. The original white metal dash has been covered by a wooden (teak) dashboard. I think this looks terrific, but it should be easy to uncover the original dash if desired. The car includes a Cassette Radio that is not connected at present. The original radio (which works) is included with the car. If you want to enjoy a classic fun sports car immediately, then this is a great car to buy. This car is 50 years old, so no warranty is offered or implied. The car is sold as is and where is. Item location: Waupun, Wisconsin, USA (approx. 1 hour north of Milwaukee, WI).
