Vehicle Detail

For Sale - My 1949 Ford F-1 Pickup Short Bed Truck Recently Restored - (Completed last Fall) I am selling my just restored 1949 Ford F-1 Pickup. I searched for years to find this truck, but unfortunately a recent ankle reconstruction prohibits me from driving any manual transmission vehicles, so sadly- my loss is your gain. I bought this truck last fall after an exhaustive search to replace one I had years ago but my winter surgery leaves me with having to sell it. I will do my best to list everything that was done to the truck, new parts/items added and spare parts included with the sale. Please note, this is an amateur restoration that is very, very well done but not a concourse truck. It will win most shows it is entered in though, pass any close inspection and catch every eye it passes by! There is zero rust on the truck and no bondo that I can find. All repairs were done properly resulting in an all steel truck. This is no "Hack job".Body is nice and straight and the two tone paint is new. Could use a little buffing to bring out a mirror type shine but very presentable with no bad spots that I can see. Interior has also been restored with new seat covers and back and side panels and most dash parts. The headliner has been painted, so to complete the restoration you might want to buy the $150.00 material liner, but certainly does not deter from the beautiful appearance as is. There is a vintage radio in the dash that hums but have not tried to get going. Not original to truck but cool. There is a new chrome block out plate included, should you decide to pull it. There is a working heater and all gauges, lights, blinkers, horn etc., work with exception of original heat gauge, (not connected), but there is a modern one presently working you could always replace later for originality but motor runs cool with no overheating problems. Motor runs like a top and to my understanding is the original flat head 6 cylinder. Engine has been newly tuned with all new plugs, points, condenser, plug wires, etc. I just put in a new heavy duty 6 volt battery, cables and solenoid, so it starts effortlessly with the push of a button. Transmission operates smoothly without any shimmying etc., but will occasionally try to slide out of second gear if a heavy grade is put in in like up a real steep hill but with just a finger on the shifter it stays put, so it is no big deal and I would not touch it. Brakes are new and drums have been turned, so it stops on a dime. Front end shows no problems and truck runs straight down the road. Tires are the 4" Wide White Walls from US Royal that are 6.00 16" 4 plys with newer tubes. Rims are all painted to match the truck and there is naturally a 5th painted rim with mounted full spare under the bed. Bed has been restored with oak wood and painted black metal inserts. Running boards are all steel and have the custom Ford scripts step plates. Full jack and handle naturally included. The wood side panels (pine), though not original to the truck look good but are simply lifted off if the new owner does not appreciate/like them. There is a very rare metal farm grille on the front that is highly sought after and also can be removed if desired but worth quite a bit. There are Ford scripted Fog lights on the front bumper with brilliant chrome buckets. Bumpers are both also newly painted and the chrome hubcaps are all new as are the mirrors, trim rings, door handles, chrome locking gas cap, wiper arms and blades, antenna, headlight trim rings, F-O-R-D- F-1 scripts, blinker plates and buckets, spare tire holder, door handles (inside and out), window cranks and dash plates. Some cool features are the afore-mentioned front farm grille, an interior cab tool shelf, (behind seat) and an antique gas/oil cooler type container, (see pictures), if the truck brings its proper value, or I will keep it. There are tons of spare/extra parts that I will include if truck meets reserve , including; new full exhaust pipes if you choose to run to rear of truck, (presently exits behind cab), All new rubber seals for all windows, (still in their bags), new cowl lace, new valve cover gaskets, spare brake shoes, intake and exhaust manifolds, extra window regulator and side glass and new Ford truck owner's manual, transmission rebuilding book and vintage Ford truck owner's manual. Probably some other things I have forgotten to mention. I have tons of extra pictures if you need but without a lift it is hard to photo the underside clearly but I have done my best. I have done my best to describe this great truck as best I can and say again that although it is awesome it is not a show truck and because of its age naturally sells as is with no warranties. My mind reading skills are very poor, so please ask questions and I will answer them all. The truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if sold. I do not want to reveal the reserve in the interest of fairness but can say it is quite reasonable and probably far below market value, so please be serious about bidding since this is serious business and not a game of time wasting. If you have less than 5 feedbacks please bid elsewhere unless you contact me first. I will gladly help in shipping the vehicle but the cost is the buyer's and please have your company give some notice for pickup. Finally, the great state of Connecticut does not issue titles for vehicles over 25 years of age, so no amount of begging, pleading, yelling etc., can change that. An official CT Bill of Sale will be provided and I will also get you a notarized one, if requested but that is all I can do. Serious buyers understand this since many states are like this and you can go to the internet and Google CT DMV for verification. I sold my 1947 Dodge pickup last year to a nice gentleman from Australia with the same paperwork and once his customs department verified things there was no problem, so don't let this deter you from bidding, I just want to be as up front as possible. I do have an old registration from what looks like 2 owners back from NY from 2008 that was in the glove box that I will give, but it may confuse things for your DMV, so your call on whether or not to use it. The truck is safe in my dry garage and can stay there for a reasonable amount of time prior to shipping if paid in full and agreed to by both parties. The palm trees you see on the tailgate are just tape and easily removed if you choose! Thank You for viewing my ad and my lengthy description. Best of luck bidding on this great and hard to find truck. On Apr-27-12 at 08:38:20 PDT, seller added the following information: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE NOTE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously, some clowns continue to try and scam the honest buyers and sellers on Ebay! I specifically stated NOT to bid on my truck if you have less than 5 feedbacks, without contacting me first but now have 3 people trying to scam the auction. I have 2 choices- 1 to simply end the auction, or refuse their bids, which I have chosen to do. I am trying to have them removed but in the mean time, they will be blocked from any future bids. Obviously, my reserve has now been revealed though, and that is not fair to those of you who have already bid in good faith. With 3 days left on the auction, I will let it continue to see if anyone legit steps up to the plate and bids, if not, I will take down the auction and try again. In the meantime, the bidder with the highest bid and more than 5 feedbacks is my high bidder. Really stinks that these fools do this crap but now that the cat is out of the bag with my reserve, ($9599.00), I guess it opens it up to the honest bidders. Sorry for the inconvenience. On Apr-27-12 at 16:02:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I have spoken with my zero feedback bidder and am assured that he is in fact a legitimate buyer with cash on hand, therefore I will not cancel his bids. Just wanted to update all the bidders after my earlier posting.
