EXTREMELY CLEAN 1983 MECREDES 300D We owned this vehicle for six years and driven it daily as our primary vehicle. It is a very strong running rust free vehicle. This would be an excellent candidate for BIO-FUEL or just a great commuter or collector vehicle dripping in classic Mercedes-Benz styling. MECHANICS - Regularly serviced at Revolution Mercedes service in Decatur, GA. Engine is strong. With just over 205K miles on a Mercedes diesel engine it still has plenty of life left in it. NEW TRANSMISSION replaced in 2011. There is a small oil leak in one of the seals which is very common for diesels. Drives very well with plenty of power and acceration for the model. (See description of mechanical inspection below) BODY - Rust free exterior. The paint is very presentable. When we purchased the vehicle we had the dealer touch up a few chips and scratches so there are some areas where the repaint is visible. I believe the majority of the paint is original to the vehicle, but can't verify that. The left front fender does have some very minor damage around the turn signal from where a kind old lady apparently didn't see our car and taped the front corner - see photo). There may be a couple other small dings or scratches representing normal use and age, but overall this car has a very clean appearance. INTERIOR - The interior is in EXCELLENT condition and believe to be orginal. The seats show very minimal wear without rips or tears. The head liner, carpet, console, and instrument panel are equally as clean. There are the typical cracks in the dashboard. ACCESSORIES - Vacuum locks work properly as does the sunroof, and instrument panel functions. Factory radio does not work. The cruise control works intermittently. The cruise amplifier could be replaced to restore this function to proper working condition. MECHANICAL INSPECTION - We have maintained the mechanics of our trusty Benz faithfully throughout our ownership, but the front suspension bushing are showing signs of needing replaced. Our mechanic has indicated that the lower left front control bushing is in need of replacement. While this is the only bushing in need of immediate attention he has recommended replacing all front control bushings at the same time to start fresh. The air cleaner bracket is also broken causing it to rattle when the engine is running. The tires will also need to be replaced soon as well. These are the only items that should be attended to sooner rather then later. WARRANTY - The are no warranties expressed or implied for this vehicle. It is sold as-is, where-is. On Apr-21-12 at 17:41:08 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 1. There are not any leaks around the windows or sunroof into the cabin interior. There is a slight leak in the trunk seal. This was fixed a while ago but has returned. The car is parked in a garage and/or carport so it doesn't get water in the trunk unless it is in a heavy rain. Then there will be a small amount of moisture in the trunk. 2. The oil leak if from a leak at the oil filter housing.
