Vehicle Detail
1979 Ford F 250 4 wheel drive regular cab long box pick up truck with 4 speed manual transmission with low 1st gear. Odometer works and says 98,899 miles. Has original cushion still on clutch pedal so this may be actual miles, but do not know for sure. I believe I am the third owner and the owner before me bought this in 1981. I have not put 1000 miles on the truck and the previous owner told me that a new 351 C engine was put in within 2 years before selling to me. The body is not perfect but in my opinion is still very straight and solid, especially for the year. Does have some rust bubbling starting on the lower front right side of box that needs attention (see photo). Exterior of truck has been repainted at some time and looks like a professional job with no runs, orange peel, etc. I believe white was probably the original color as the interior paint and trim is white too. Engine runs good with no noises, smoke, etc and has good oil pressure and lots of power. The clutch works good, power steering and power brakes work. Brake pedal is a little low so probably needs some brake work. The tires are good with lots of tread left with little or no weather cracking. The four wheel drive works great and the lockouts work as should. Has sliding rear window. The box floor and sides are still very solid. This is a great old 4x4 truck that is only getting harder to find. Note as mentioned truck body is not perfect but in my opinion is still very straight and solid for a 70s truck. Truck has been repainted by someone before me and am making no gurantees of there being no previous body work performed or damage that is not seen under a repaint, such as bondo or body filler etc. The previous owner once had a visor on front of cab and there are a few small holes were it was mounted that were filled when he removed the visor and there is some rust in this area starting to bubble through the paint by the top of the door. The floor boards look like the original and are solid except for 2 or 3 small holes starting on the edge of the drivers side. The truck seat looks like the original and is torn on the drivers side. The obvious areas that are known to rust through on trucks like this still in my opinion look very solid overall for a 79 but this is a used vehicle and if you have any further questions please ask before you bid.
