Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 65 GTO. This is a Lemans car that was an all original Georgia car, restored to a GTO clone in 2009. I bought the car in October 2009 fresh out of the resto shop after a frame off restoration. Everything on this car was done correctly and is very clean on the bottom side. Lots of detail. Everything was either new, cleaned, or refubished before it was placed back onto the body/chassis. Car is the original color, teal turquoise with parchment/black interior. The original top was teal but was replaced with white. Has a Pontiac 455 with the 6X-4 heads, 268 Comp Cams camshaft, 4-bolt mains with hardened chromed crank, Edelbrock intake, Holley carb, HEI distributor, ceramic coated headers with 2 1/2" mandrel bent exhaust with turbo mufflers & split stainless tips exiting below the rear bumper. Custom aluminum radiator with auxillary electric fan, 200R-4 transmission, power front disc brakes, power steering. During the restore the carpet, seat covers, top & pump were all replaced new. Ken Harrision am/fm cassette radio. A picture of the body ID plate is included below. I have not done a PHS report because I know the car is not a "real" GTO. The story I was told was that the car spent its life in Georgia and was a clean, rust free low mileage car when the resto was started - although noone can prove that. I do have a maintenance log from the 70's that could support this claim but I do not declare it. I drive this car to shows and have placed in several; even though it is not PHS documented, correct, concurs.......whatever......it's a very clean car that demands attention. This car will cruise 75, 80MPH on the highway.....or more if you want, without any strain. It's just a very nice, very classic restoration on a car that can be driven anywhere and enjoyed. My wife & I have enjoyed the car for almost 3 years and the only reason we're considering selling it is to pay off our mortgage & move on to another chapter in our lives! The car IS driven on nice days, only in the rain if we're caught in it; IS garaged ALL THE TIME, has a clear MS title, and is fully insured. Since it is driven it is not PERFECT, I'm sure anyone can find flaws as you can with any car no matter how old it is. The one thing I will mention that is not "totally right" is that I have a kill switch connected between the distributor and the battery to deliver good, clean, solid voltage to the coil. That's the only "trick" to driving the car. Email with any questions, look at the pictures, and if you would like to see something in more detail let me know. Buyer assumes all responsibility for pickup or shipping, and the winning buyer should pick the car up within 2 days unless other arrangements are made with me.
