This car has a 400Ci High Output V8 engine which is paired to a manual transmission M20. This is a factory 4 speed car with VIN “242” (THE REAL GTO #’s). This car is very special because it features the original dealer inventory and original window sticker paper work and information sheets dating back to 04-03-70. This car is originally from RED BANK New Jersey, it was delivered from the factory to dealer code #329-247 (Rassas Pontiac INC). This particular GTO had a few options including option CO8: Cordova TOP, PK5 G70x14, M20 4 speed Manual transmission, U63 Radio Push button, P01 Wheel covers (chrome rings), and Power steering Variable ratio. The car sold for 3,856.11 In 1970. Included in the sale is a folder complete with random work documents, oil changes, engine rebuild receipts, rear end rebuild receipts, dealer paperwork, original paint codes and other rare documents. This car is very unique, it is NOT a numbers matching car; however it is a numbers car with documentation, original pepper green color. The engine on this GTO is out of another 1970 GTO, it has YD block stamps, the transmission is an M20 Fine gear “ROCK CRUSHER” with the oversized output shaft and upgraded Yoke, It is paired to a 10 bolt Posi-trac rear end (original and recently rebuilt) with 355 gears (original). The engine and transmission on this car have about 10K miles of use, they were pulled and re-built in 2001, the rear end was rebuilt in march of 2006, with new bearings and Eaton Parts, (have receipts). The engine on this car is very special because it features Ported and polished (very nice job) RAM AIR III Heads, high flow headers, RPM performer Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock carburetor (choke-less 750CFM), it has a high lift cam (medium street quality, brand unknown), 4 bolt main, double roller timing chains, forged crank, forged pistons and high compression upgraded rings. This car also has MSD ignition, Msd 6AL box, MSD distributor and coil, and an upgraded radiator. The transmission has a new clutch, “center force 11 inch’’ performance (done last year), new flywheel, new starter, Thrush-hush mufflers, hotchkins upgraded suspension, extended rear control arms Performance bushings and stabilizers, electric fuel pump, Edelbrock rear bars, and a very nice short ratio HURST shifter. This car is 100% mechanically sound; it starts runs and drives EXCELLENT! It will do 75-80 miles per hour on the highway no problem, and still glue you into your seat in first and second gear. The car has been maintained with 10W40 Mobil one oil, it is garage kept and very well cared for. The body is in good shape HOWEVER, it is DRIVER quality, which means it’s not a show car and it does have imperfections (see pictures). It does have a few spots where paint is bubbling, (see pictures) the front bumper (rubber OEM) has cracks and chips on the paint (see pictures). I received and estimate of $800 USD to fix all of the imperfections on the front bumper and hood. The floor pans on this car are SOLID, The frame is SOLID, trunk is solid, does not leak any fluids, body looks good. This is a very nice weekend warrior. The interior of this car is very clean, very nice and in excellent condition, the paint is decent for its age! The carpets are very good and look new, interior panels, doors, door skins, headliner, and gauges all in excellent shape. The radio system works well, has good speakers. The gauges on this 1970 all work perfectly, gas gauge RPM gauges all very functional, however speedometer is NOT accurate, (car speedometer is not accurate, it will read 65 when doing 45, and speed gear might be incorrect or out of calibration). This car is equipped with a Hurst shifter, Am/FM radio, all glass and windows are excellent and they roll up and down well. Overall this car is a pleasure to drive, it is reliable for its age, it looks good, and runs excellent! This is a very nice opportunity to buy this car cheap, it is NO RESERVE so highest bidder takes the car home! The car comes with a new cover, rubber Pontiac mats and a few misc spare parts. Call me with questions (845) 987 9267. I am listing this car here on ebay on behalf of the original owner, I have a clean title and all of the documentation. Known History: 1970-1994: Original owner: the car was purchased in 1970 in red bank NJ, the owner moved to Charlotte North Carolina in 1978, the car spent 10 years there until it was transported back to NJ in 1988 where it sat in a garage until 1994. 1994-2000: The new owner purchased the car in Newburg NY from the original owners’ son, engine replaced with current 400, car restored to current condition and re-painted 2000-Present: new owner, engine transmission and rear-end rebuilt, engine modified and improved, interior redone. Thank you good luck, and happy bidding! On Apr-09-12 at 17:28:03 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: NOTE: This car is NOT a matching numbers car, It is NOT in show room condition, the engine and transmission are out of another 70 GTO, The body looks good for a "driver" It is NOT perfect, there is a little bubbling on the paint (see pictures) and the front bumper has cracks and chips in the paint. I am trying to describe this car to the best of my abilities. Thank you! Also: the car has upgraded disc brakes in the front, upgraded rotors, and calipers, they are cross drilled and slotted. On Apr-14-12 at 10:57:13 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I Have new details on the transmission, Today the Oil was drained, and checked and new gear oil put in.
