You are looking at a rare car…. a PHS documented southern California RUST FREE 1964 Pontiac GTO with a 389 Tri power and 4 speed with a posi rear. The car was a factory built 4 bbl car with dealer installed tri power. All documented with build (broadcast sheet) see photos. We have original California registrations from 1966 to 1970. We believe this is a two owner car. Car was delivered to Louis Frahm Pontiac in Downey, California. And built in Fremont California according to original broadcast sheet that was found under rear seat. Broadcast sheet has vin number and shows the GTO option. This car is a model 2237 (hardtop) of which 18,422 were built…now think about it, how many were rusted and junked, how many wrecked and totaled and how many are left? And out of the ones left how many are true GTO rust free California cars? You looking at it. This car has some race history at the Irwindale raceway and Pomona as a weekend warrior. We have a few time slips to prove…14.36 in qtr mile. Engine: Top of motor was refreshed with heads replaned and new valves in 2004. Factory original chrome valve covers. Original owner did install long tube headers which the car still has. Brakes: Original heavy duty drum brakes with all new front and rear wheel cylinders. Under carriage: Completely chemically washed and painted with rustoleum black gloss. Suspension: All new suspension parts in frt and new frt shocks and new rear air shocks. Exhaust: Factory dual exhaust. (build sheet documented). Has steel mufflers with optional stainless dual tips. The car sounds great with this exhaust!!! Not loud but throaty. Interior: All original except for slight refresh on factory carpet and door panels. Options: 1964 True wood wheel(mint condition), factory tilt wheel, console with vacuum guage, reverb unit(not installed comes with car), Power steering, tachometer, dual horns, four speed, F40 suspension, bucket seats. Goes with car: Original owners manual, Broadcast sheet, PHS documentation, original old registrations, qtr mile time slips from the sixties, specification sheets, a chevron credit card receipt for 26 gallons for $5.10, original redline spare tire, newspaper article in 2009 announcing the end of Pontiac. Car has had a repaint one year ago in the original gulfstream aqua color. The front and rear bumpers are original, so they are not perfect chrome. Car is located in Cape Coral Florida. We just had a Pontiac expert check over the engine bay and the block and heads and intake are all numbers matching. All Original. The intake is a 12 bolt. The back of the block by distributor is stamped 9773155.......that indicates it is a 1964 GTO 389 block. The casting numbers on the heads are 9770716, (both heads have same number), This means they are 1964 4 bbl or tri power heads. The intake has twelve (12) bolts to the heads...this is a 1964 only indicator.
