For sale is my 1981 Mercedes 300sd Turbo Diesel. 180k orig. mi. Photos show this is an exceptional find for anyone who knows about these well-built luxury vehicles. I have owned 4 and this is by far the cleanest and best maintained one I have seen. I am the 3rd owner and have had it for roughly 3 yrs.I do have some records and more may be attainable at the dealer where the orig. owner (who had it many years) serviced it. Mostly it stays in my garage which is why I am selling it. I need room and I'm constantly afraid I'm going to drop something on it or scratch the paint. Which IS ORIGINAL. The only barely visible blemish in the paint is a tiny scratch that has been professionally detailed (see next to dime). The interior is nearly like new. Beautiful upholstery, dash and wood. All amenities work including cruise. My wife and I drove it to Key West from TN last Oct. It got 33 mpg. and used exactly 1/2 qt oil going and 1/2 qt coming home. Cold A/C., Alpine system w/ USB,AUX, and CD. Runs and Drives absolutely perfect. Michelin Hydras are nitrogen filled and 95%. For anyone not familiar with these engines, they last well over 300k mi. and several are over 1 million. The 300d and sd utilized it up to 84'. It's widely believed they stopped because it lasted too long. 85' on used either aluminum heads or block, not sure but the life span is not what these babies have. If you know mercedes diesels you will not be disappointed. I have honestly described this vehicle. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and no warranty is implied.
