Up for auction is a 2000 Toyota Camry CE with about 197,500 miles. My wife and I have owned this car since the summer of 2003 when it was purchased with just under 40,000 miles on it. This Camry has given us nine years of trouble-free driving and has never let us down. However, with the odometer approaching 200,000 miles, and the fact that our other car already has 235,000 miles on it, we decided that it was finally time to part ways and purchase a newer vehicle. This car would be great for a first-time driver, or someone looking for a decent commuter car. Even if you are interested in taking a long-distance trip or two, this car can still handle it. It IS a twelve year old car with high mileage, so please understand that there are cosmetic defects on the exterior such as scratches, dings, and dents. When you walk around the car, the only major damage that you would probably notice is on the rear driver-side corner. There is a small puncture and crack on the bumper in this area, and a little bit of damage to the taillight. As for the interior condition, again, there are some stains and cosmetic defects. The front floor mats are a bit dirty. Overall, the car is cosmetically what you would expect for a twelve year old car. Mechanical Condition We have never replaced the engine or transmission, so they should be original. Both are in good working order. The tires are all relatively new and still have plenty of tread left on them. Struts were replaced less than three years ago and new rotors and pads were installed on the front about six months ago. Power components still work fine including windows and locks. The A/C still blows cold. Known Issues/Defects While there are no major issues with the car, I will try my best to list any problems here: Driver side door handle is broken on the outside. It is still possible to open the door, but it takes just a little bit of effort.There is a hole or crack in the exhaust somewhere. This is one of those things that has developed over time. The car runs slightly louder because of it, but it is very tolerable and does not produce the kind of noise that would wake your neighbors. Once at speed, you hardly notice it.Engine valve cover gasket might need to be replaced. There is a small leak of oil from the top of the engine. It looks like it might be coming from the valve cover. This does not seem like a big deal, however, if minor leaks bother you, it might be a good idea to address this.Crack in the bumper and taillight as mentioned before.These Camry's have a display for the clock that is separate from the radio. Unfortunately, this display stopped working a long time ago, so you can no longer see the time or outdoor temperature.Some lights are out on the dash and behind the climate controls. Again, I have made my best attempt to list everything I know of that is wrong with the car. However, I am not responsible for any omissions from the list above.
