I have two Model As and at my age (80) I don't need two vehicles. I'm trying to simplify my life, so I'm selling my 1930 Ford Roadster Deluxe. It was completely restored in 2005 by Iowa restoration craftsmen. The two previous owners rarely drove the vehicle but they certainly gave it kid glove treatment, never ran it in the rain, and kept it garaged. Its appearance alone is enough to give the owner status among Model A enthusiasts. Simply put, it is a show-stopper. The previous owner claimed it graded out at a 9 at one of the few car shows he attended. The body and paint are unblemished, and it is clean in every respect: underneath, under the hood, in the cockpit, and in the rumble seat area. The upholstery is like new. A stone guard protects the radiator, all six whitewall tires have less than a hundred miles on them, and the side-mount spare tires are set off by rear view mirrors on straps. The engine runs nicely, the car drives well, and everything works. The convertible top is practically new, but there are no side curtains. The odometer reads 119 miles, and the battery is new and I include a new alternator that I never got around to installing since the generator works well. A classic car mechanic inspected the engine and determined that it had been rebuilt. There's only one problem with this lovely car: it leaks too much oil and I am convinced it needs a new rear seal. I don't know why it wasn't replaced when they rebuilt the engine. Whoever acquires this vehicle from me should plan to have it shipped at his own expense to its new home.
