Vehicle Detail

I am selling this car for a friend. It is a 1965 Rambler American 440 Convertible. It has been sitting for 5 years in a heated garage. My friend bought the car to drive to car shows, but soon after his purchase the transmission went out. He sent it to the local shop and spent $1,000 to rebuild the transmission drove it home (7 miles) and it has sit since. I helped him get the car running again. We installed a new battery and added gas. It ran within minutes. It still needs the carb adjusted or cleaned to really run smooth. It has a small exhaust leak in the pipe. You can hear it leaking. The interior is in good shape for the year of the car. It appears to be original to the car. There is a small dent on the inside top edge of the drivers door and a small split in the seat (see picture). The quarters do have some bubbles under the paint, I took a picture of the worst part. Looks good from a distance. We rinsed the car off and took pictures. The tires will be aired up later as we did not have an airpump to fill them at the time of the pictures. The convertible top has some small tears, but presentable. The hydraulic pump works well up and down. This car would make a great weekender or possible show car restoration. The paint on the car is a 5-6 out of 10. A good buffing could probably make it an 8. The car can be seen prior to the end of auction. I would suggest the car be trailered for a distance, as it has been sitting for over 5 years. I would put on a new set of tires, check hoses, typical things you do for any car making a road trip. I have set a low reserve, but have a buy it now for those who want it now. The VIN number is incorrect, I supplied for the listing, but will be adding it by tomorrow. On Mar-05-12 at 17:10:06 PST, seller added the following information: Update. The VIN is 105904. The mileage on the odometer is 87,998. It is possible that it is correct, but no way to verify. The Body tag reads 1. Body R000908 2. Model 6507-S 3. Trim 541P 4. 13A E 007838. There are 2 small tears in the top smaller than an inch and the windshield has to circular cracks on the passenger side. The car has not been detailed. The interior is as is was in the garage for the last 5 years. It will even look better cleaned up. I posted additional pictures with better lighting.
