Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is my 1981 Suzuki GS 1100E. Has 14993 original miles but with 80 degree temps in northern Ohio in March, mileage will be more by the time auction is over. I am the third owner. Second owner owned the bike from 1984 thru Feb. 2010. When I bought the bike it had only 9000 miles on the clock and sat in his garage for many years without being ridden. Needless to say, when I picked up the bike it needed a lot of work to be road ready from being idle all those years. Spent over $1600.00 in repairing and replacing things that needed attention. Some of the things I did to the bike was adjust valve clearances, new battery, carbs cleaned, rebuilt, and synced. Replaced entire exhaust system due to rust and installed used exhaust from a 1980 1100ET model. Entire clutch was rebuilt (bike will "chirp" the rear tire in 2nd & 3rd gear...just like a 4 on the floor hurst shifter). New rear brakes. Front are good. New front and rear Bridgestone tires with only 400 miles on them. New plugs, wires, and caps. New Dyna Dual output 3.0 ohms green coils. Rebuilt cam chain tensioner. New front and rear sprockets. New 630 drive chain. Fresh oil and filter every 1000 miles since I've owned the bike. Period correct sissy bar and luggage rack (forgot to take photo). New intake and airbox rubber. Stator and regulator are good. No charging issues. New rubber grommets where needed. All electrics and lights work. Transmission and clutch work flawlessly. No dents anywhere. Some very small scratches here and there. Even though this is one fast bike I don't ride it hard except for an occasional fast run thru the gears on the highway. Most of the mileage are pampered miles. Things wrong with the bike: Needs front fork seals. Paint at the bottom of the fuel tank and a small part on the frame got ruined from brake fluid that leaked from the master cylinder from the wind while riding. Master cylinder has been rebuilt. I was really ticked off when that happened because the paint is original and shines up very well when washed and waxed. Right side panel tab is broke so it is held in place with wire. Left side panel has a small blemish on the paint. Left turn signal doesn't self cancel. Left cylinder head gasket seeps oil, very small seepage, about every 500 miles or so. Engine does not leak oil anywhere else. Not much wrong with this bike. I took care of all the real costly and time consuming stuff last year. Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. Shipping will be buyers responsibility. Bike will need to be paid in full within 7 days after auction ends. I can store the bike for you up to three weeks. Checks will need to clear the bank before bike is released otherwise cash is fine when you pick the bike up. This is a nice running bike and I put a lot of my time and money into getting it to run like a swiss watch. Good luck and thanks for looking at my classic old school muscle bike.
