Vehicle Detail
This is a 1952 Dodge Powerwagon. It is a former fire department brush truck with less than 25000 miles on the odometer. It is all original and has never been restored. There is no rust through and only surface rust on the floor pans and in places on the underside. The pictures should pretty much speak for the sheet metal condition. The wood in the bed has likely been replaced at some point and is still very solid but the pictures will show it will need to be done again at some point in the future. The gages all work with the exception of the gas gage that works 50% of the time it seems. Both pieces of the drivers door glass are cracked and will need to be replaced. The doors still align and shut like they did when it was new, one finger presure required, pretty much. The original floor mat is still in place. There are a few extra holes that again the pictures will show, like a hole on the rear of the passenger side cab where there was a whip antenna mount, 2 sets of 4 small holes on the cab top where the red lights were mounted and a couple extra hole in the dash where various light swithes were mounted. The top of the headliner is also partially missing. No body work has been done to it over the years as far as I could ever tell, not even the cab corners which are solid as well. It starts, runs and drives well although the brakes need some attention. After it sits awhile you have to pump the pedel a few times to get pressure. The bottom on the tailgate has some good denting, but is still solid. The right front fender has a dent as well. The pictures were taken with the truck running. It still has the 6 volt electrical system with the foot starter. The generateor charges fine. It has a new battery. Under the hood is all original as well. The horn works as does the drivers side windshield wiper. It has the heater/defrost which works great as well. The cardboard portion of the glovebox is in the truck but not mounted and may need to be replaced. The wiring for the most part is largely original and therefore very old. That would be something I would take care of 1st if I keep it. The winch works and of course the transmission, transfer case, emergency brake and 4 wheel drive. This will be sold with a copy of the NH registration and a bill of sale which should allow you to register it in your state as NH does not title vehicles this old. But please check with your own DMV. This isn't a show truck, but it is totally solid and original. Run it like it is or restore it. I require a $200.00 dollar deposit by Paypal or within 48 hours and full payment in cash within 7 days. If you come to pick the truck up within those 7 days and don't like what you see, you can walk away form the deal but you will forfeit your $200.00 deposit to cover my listing fees so please be sure. The truck can stay here for a time until you can make arrangements. I can also transport the truck for a fee and within a within a reasonable distance but you must check with me before bidding please. Buyer is responsible for all transportation arrangements and cost. Any questions just ask. I also have many more pictures of the outside, inside and underside I can send to the serious. Thanks for looking. On Mar-18-12 at 11:31:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: I just took the truck out of the garage to rewind the cable onto the winch and noticed that the SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING. I believe it was working last year, but honestly I can't say for sure. So please assume the milage on the truck is more than the 25,000 miles noted in the ad. I did disconnect the speedometer cable and the cable itself is broken, but didn't look at it any further and won't have time before the end of the auction so it goes as is. If you have bid on the truck already, please feel free to cancel your bid. I did lower the reserve $1500.00 to account for it possibly having higher milage. ThanksOn Mar-20-12 at 17:53:40 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok, another update. The high bidder after meeting the reserve said he couldn't follow thru without inspecting the truck before the end of the auction. No problem even with only a couple days left. I returned early from a business trip to meet him only to find out by my calling him that he wasn't going to be able to make the 30 mile droive, but his conditions still stood. The 2nd highest bidder had already bought another truck so I cancelled his bids as well. Anyway I have in the ad a pretty good out if you don't like the truck when you pick it up you only loose your deposit. I'd be more than happy to show anyone this truck but with less than 24 hours left I don't think that will happen. Ask questions, ask for pictures BEFORE you bid please. If you aren't sure or if you need to have someones approval, please get it before bidding. The reserve is $12,500.00. Thanks
