Summary I purchased this car from a fellow BMW enthusiast last fall as my daily driver, and I have to say, this has perhaps been the most reliable and trouble free pre-owned BMW vehicle that I have ever owned. The volumes of receipts from the prior owners are a testament that this car has always had the best of care, serviced by BMW technicians, and it shows! Needless to say, I would love to hang on to this one, particularly as it is such a good car for around town and fun to drive, but need to consolidate my vehicles to conserve resources so am reluctantly selling it. This very rare vehicle, equipped with the Sport Package with Sunroof Delete, was originally ordered from BMW by a fanatic, as this combination of options are performance oriented and help the car handle better than the standard equipped wagons of the day. This one does not have even a Sunroof, which has been terrific for me as I do not normally use them anyway. I am also particularly fond of the 10 way Sport Seats, adjustable manually, and not by electric motors! This car has had 4 owners, including me. Primarily, it has lived in Virginia, New Hampshire, and now North Carolina. It is a very clean vehicle that will provide many years of reliable service along with a high fun quotient! The car runs and drives as you would expect of a BMW. Most folks that see it on the road have no clue that the car is 13 years old, and the car accelerates and shifts smoothly as it should, and is very well maintained with hardly any detail or expense spared. There are no leaks. The tires are new with thick tread on them, with new OEM Style 73 BMW wheels, and I’ve got a spare set of the original wheels and Bridgestone Potenza tires with approximately 30,000 miles on them that will go with the car too. The suspension is tight and solid. There are no warning lights that illuminate while driving, no leaks, or other issues, and the car tracks straight and is in alignment to factory specifications. Mechanically, just about everything has been serviced and up to date on the car. The electrical items all work, except for the passenger side seat heater and the rear window glass latch. This passenger heated seat is currently unplugged. According to the former owner, it does work but gets too warm, and as a safety precaution, it was unplugged. I have not bothered with it as we have had a particularly mild winter and it has not been needed anyway. The window glass opens as normal from the key fob, not from the latch directly on the glass. Both of these are minor issues and have not bothered me in the least. The car has certainly been very well cared for during its 13 years, contrary to most of these that you will find on the market today that have many more miles. This is perhaps the rarest car of its kind that you will find with Sport Package, 5 Speed, and Sunroof Delete! It is currently garaged at all times and pampered. It has been hand washed and polished, and all service is up to date. I also have the original window sticker all books, service records dated back to 2001, manuals, and several sets of keys.
