Vehicle Detail
Anderson1951 Store 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix Model J 1 owner California car with big block 455 cubic inch engine, automatic transmission, air conditioning, power steering, power disc brakes in front, nice stereo system, alarm, custom wheels and dual exhaust. This car was originally sold in Glendale, California and delivered on December 6, 1971 by Tom Ray Pontiac. Original warranty policy and owners service records go with the car which verify the original owner and mileage. Very clean interior without any tears in the upholstery, headliner is original and in good shape and body is very presentable with just a few chips in the paint (root beer metallic) which have been touched up. Car was in storage when I was asked to sell it for the family. In order to make the car road worthy, I replaced the battery, front and rear brakes including calipers and master cylinder wheel cylinders and hardware, rebuilt the carburetor, performed a tune up, transmission service and replaced the differential seal and fresh KYB performance shocks all around. The car was also missing the right fender due to the elderly owner's mishap in his parking garage. I replaced and painted to match. This car has probably been no further away from it's Los Angeles home than Las Vegas and so has no more than minor surface rust and a scuff or 2 underneath. Being a garaged California car, the floors and other areas are solid. I did detect 2 areas where body work had been done but no rust. Paint shines well. The engine compartment has been detailed since these pictures to improve appearance and I will be posting a picture tomorrow. Air conditioning system is intact but needs attention, belt and charge I suspect. Some badging has been removed and the tires and wheels are not original to the car but easily available here on Ebay. Mileage just turned over according to the owner's paperwork. Has a very nice stereo system and amp installed in the trunk as well as the factory 8 track behind the front seats. As for power, the 455 will smoke the tires instantly and the exhaust sounds throaty as you would expect. I have a clear California title in hand and it's currently on non-op status so a California buyer would be responsible for registration going forward. Inspections in person are encouraged by appointment 7 days a week. Please ask any questions and request other pictures no more than 24 hours before the close of the auction. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early unless the reserve is met. I can store the car for up to 2 weeks after purchase and will work with your shipping company to get it delivered. Paypal deposit within 48 hours and payment in full within 7 days. Cash in person or bank to bank wire transfer preferred. If you want to bid and you find yourself blocked due to state or country, let me know. Thanks. On Feb-21-12 at 11:56:33 PST, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention that this is a model J and may, or may not, have been originally equipped with California emissions (smog pump) now long gone. On Feb-23-12 at 12:36:01 PST, seller added the following information: Further investigation on the internet reveals that that the engine block code is correct for 72-73 455 ci. automatic equipped vehicle and that the head code 7M5 is also correct for a 455 ci engine. This info supplied by Pontiac web sites using the search term "Pontiac engine codes" and "Pontiac head codes".
